What was the name of the woman you worked with at DestinationWeddings.com. Also, how much do they charge. Another question I have is would it be really weird to not walk down an aisle at the dreams Tulum. My daughter really doesn't want to walk down an aisle.

Thanks.

for the people who had a civil ceremony, did you get your birth certificates notorized before getting married? The wedding information booklet says that you only have to do this if you are previously divorced. But the new info posted on the Dreams Tulum website simply says you need a notorized birth certificate (does not say for divorce only). I'm pretty sure I don't need it but it would be nice to have it confirmed since I leave in 2 weeks!

I worked with a woman named Barb Mason. I paid a $50 deposit fee which was basically just to let them know I was serious because the work can be very time consuming and they did a credit of my $50 back when she booked my trip! She spent countless hours with me going through tons and tons of resorts helping me decide which one to choose. All of my guests really enjoyed her. She sent everyone information about Dreams several months ago and even more information just last week as we get closer to our date. She really catered to our needs and I feel like she got our guests the very best rates. Oh..and even during our trip if we run into any problems all I have to do is give her a call and she will take care of everything!

Uh, should i interpret your quote below to mean that all wedding festivities have to be wrapped yp by 10:30 pm?!? Given that my wedding is currently scheduled for 6:30 , that sounds a bit early to me! (I was assuming that in june, since sun sets at 7:30, doing it at 6:30 would have me getting married round sunset - anyone know if that's a reasonable assumption? And yes, plan on doing my photos earlier).

But I'm hoping that there's at least somewhere else to go on proerty if the party actually has to end at 10:30! Ack - another thingk i didn't think of yet...

Yes ! They stop entertaining + working at 10:30... Don't forget that the people who work there have been there since 7 am... I would ask Sandra, just to make sure. As for me, I wanted to go to bed at 8:30 ! I was so tired... getiing married is a good stress but it will get to you !

I got my reception extended to 11:00pm but that's all Sandra would budge. The reason being is my reception will be at the Seaside Grill and there are guest rooms not too far from there. Sandra says it is hotel policy to end everything at 10:30 in consideration of the other guests who may want to try and get some sleep. But, if you're reception is in the new ballroom, I don't see why you would have to end it so soon. I think one of the reasons for building a ballroom is to have more private ceremonies. And it won't be close to any rooms so I think it would be okay to keep the party going until later.

here's hoping! I can't see ending the party at 10:30 since I'm doing the wedding at 6:30 (the time they suggested...) But glad to hear that you at least got till 11:00... and hope that the new space lets me have it later (although i do feel for the fact that sandra will have been at work since the wee hours - but perhaps she can go home and rest while we dance??) Can't wait to hear a review of someone who had their wedding in the new building... Or else I guess we continue the party somewhere else...

Ah, the fun details of this... who knew there was this much to do? Oy.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. After reading so many posts on this site I've learned things somehow always gets done.

And don't worry about Sandra. When I went down for my site visit (and saw 2 weddings) Sandra called it quits after dinner and leaves others in charge. I think she knows her limits!

I received video samples(yup, multiple weddings) from Juan Alfredo this weekend and they look pretty good. The music was great but audio of the actual video sound was a little hard to hear. No price list though so I have emailed him but no answer yet. I think its going to be between him and the DT videographer, I have to go back and watch both samples now.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
