I do not know what I would do if it was not for this forum. I would probably have had a nervous breakdown or a panic attack or something. Thanks to the girls here, I am not as sad about the fact that I can't have my wedding where I originally wanted it, and they have all made me feel great about my new location choice. So, we are all lucky to be on this forum and to have each other.

I honestly don't think I would be having a DW without this forum. I was just getting to the overwhelmed and frustrated point when I found this forum (well actually the old Cabo one!). I agree that I feel like I'm friends with so many of the girls on here. It's so fun to meet people from other places, share something in common and get to know more about eachother. I will admit that this forum has made me laugh (often), cry (I know, i'm a sap!) and has also challenged my long-held opinions about tradition and even other issues.

I'm so happy to have all you girls...grouphug.gif

I agree with whoever suggested that DW brides are simply a bit more laid back. Or... maybe it's just the thought of all that tequila in Mexico?

Just kidding! But really, the whole idea of tackling a wedding outside of the country means you have to be a bit more flexible than you might normally be. I honestly don't think I could have done that - I admit it! - but we also only had 4 months to plan, and I went nuts enough as it was. So, kudos to you brides, and I'm sorry I don't have much info on DWs! But hey, if anyone wants to get married in Phoenix, Arizona, I'm there for ya!

I didn't think it was possible to find so many nice girls! I mentioned early on when I joined that in NYC wedding planning is cut throat! It is like a grown up version of Sweet 16. Bunch of spoiled, rich brats who bitch about the most trivial things. (Nothing wrong with being spoiled or rich btw, I just hate when people are bratty about it). One of my friends was mad she wasn't asked to be a BM so she wore a poofy white dress to sabotage the bride!! I mean it is just dispicable here. I'm glad I found a group of nice girls who are just as happy to share their happy day with other brides.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
