Atlanta Girls...I need your help!!!!

Recommended Posts

I am having my AHR in August. I am having a really hard time finding an affordable location. Do any of you have any suggestions? I will have around 250 guests. We will be providing alcohol and our own catering. We plan to have a DJ and AC will be a must in August. TIA!!!

Have you looked at KTN Ballroom in Duluth? My sister had her reception there about 2 years ago and she was able to bring in her own caterer, alcohol, and bartenders. Its the Korean Television Network building so it's in an office park, but inside is really nice. She had about 200 guests and the place was more than enough space.

I just checked. They are crazy expensive. Thanks for your help though!

This is one of the issues I have been going back and forth about. At this point, with the prices I've been given, I'm not even sure we are having a AHR! I'm not sure what 'affordable' is to you, but majority of the places I've contacted are waaaay out of our budget. lol

I'm not sure how formal you want your AHR to be. We are actually trying to do more of an informal, bbq type maybe. But my company actually has a small facility room they rent out, but its very informal, meaning no chandeliers or anything like that. But with the right decorations, the place looks pretty nice. I'll have to check and see what the capacity is though.

Also, I was looking at the clubhouse in the Anneewakee subdivision in Douglasville. Its actually a log cabin look. My FI loves it. I have to call and get the pricing on it.

Anyhow, here is a link I found this morning with various places in ATL: Wedding Places, Wedding Reception Halls in Atlanta, Georgia (GA)

The reason we decided to do a DW is b/c when I started looking at facilities in Atlanta I couldn't find any place that I liked that was going to end up less than 15k-20k with food, decorations, drinks, dj, etc. I gave up after about a month. So we are not doing an AHR. FIs family is not coming to the wedding, except his mom and a cousin, so they are throwing us some sort of cookout/party when we get back and then I think we will also have a party at our house for everyone else. It will be a housewarming/wedding celebration type thing.

Thanks for your help!! We have been looking for a community center or something similar. We want something very casual, but we want alchol and a dj, so that ruled out a lot of those places. Finding a place for 200-250 is tough too. The community centers are $300 or less for the entire day for most places. I hope I find something!!! I don't want this to be too expensive. I would host it at my house if I could, but I don't know where I would put all those people or cars.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
