Help me decide..

Recommended Posts

I know there have been a few thread lately on wedding bands but I keep going back and forth on what I should get. There are three options, 1) a custom design band that matchs my E-ring 2) 5 stone, 1 carat diamond ring or 3) 2 carat eternity band (each stone being 10 points) (see below for pictures of 2 & 3)

Now to refresh your memory, my E-ring center stone is emerald cut and two diamonds on each side (two on each side are .25 & .11 points per side) If I did a custom ring they would match my E-ring exactly with the center stone being either .25 or .40 (depending on which one looked better and aligned better)

I really love eternity bands, my wedding ring is not one, but I am hoping my fiance will buy one for our four year anniversary which is one day before our wedding...so my vote is for the eternity band.

I, on the other hand, am not a fan of eternity bands. If you are not a woman of leisure, its hard to keep it nice. You will bang it on things and it will get scratched and not look so pretty in a few years. That is my thing, that is why I would not get one. All my rings look kinda banged up on the back. Not my E-ring, but it will happen.

I think a custom one is the best idea. That is what I am going to do Tammy, and I have an emerald cut as well. I will get something with diamonds the same size as my side diamonds and find something nice to go where the stone is, maybe bigger, depends on what looks good. This way, you know you will be happy with it, and, no one else will have one like it.

Yeah that was my orginal thought Jules, but I'm so worried after all the money it costs to make a custom one that I won't like it once it's finished and I'll be so made at myself. Plus I know i'll have issues with the bands flipping around all the time, and if I bond them together, then when we are mountian biking or snowboarding or whatever I wouldn't be able to wear my rings..

I think my problem with the whole wedding planning/wedding band decisions is that I over think EVERYTHING and I end up driving myself crazy.. lol

This is so hard because im in the same boat as you...i love the eternity one but have decided to go with half way around..these are my reasons why:

a) eternity is uncomfortable to wear according to my mom

B) id rather have something half way around and have bigger diamonds for more of a sparkle

c) if you refer back to ann's thread where she is trying to decided on rings i posted my e-ring with an eternity band and it just doesn't look right...doesn't sit properly under

d) Terry said he'd buy me an eternity for one of our anniversarys

e) u can't get them resized

f) if u get 3/4 of the way around still looks like an eternity and no one will know it isnt unless u wave..see janets heres is 3/4 of the way i thought it was all the way around...well its beautiful

hope this helps..good luck

If you have it custom made and you don't like it, they can fix it. You are not stuck with what you pick out, they fix it till you like it. Nothing is set in stone. It takes time for them to change it, so it will take a while, but it will be changed. I say look around, ask them what they can do to set something up that you can change around and go that route. If you get something that fits perfectly, it will not flip around, just move a little.

Tammy also it isnt that expensive to make a custome ring..ive looked into prices and it will come out to be exactly the same...and yes we girls overthink everything dont worry bout that it just makes the process more funcheesy.gif and we love to drive ourselves insane anyways

Well the price of the eternity band that I would get (2 carat) is about 3k and the custom ring (1 carat) would be the same price. Cain said he would get me whatever I want because it's a one time decision that I have to live with for the rest of our lifes. Maybe that is weighting down on me too.. lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
