Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

You are not alone. I freak out constantly wondering if I made the right choice and if my guests will be happy. I know no matter how much I plan and put into things guests will have something to complain about (its in peoples nature) but I cant help but still freak. I think its also exactly what Becks said we arent there to see things for ourselves so we have to put our trust in a photo or word of mouth and hope its what we are looking for. Its tough but I think we can handle it or we wouldnt of followed through with a destination wedding in the first place.

Melissa all packages are symbolic only. The legal ceremony is $900-1000 additional (cant remember the exact price right now) and that is why a lot of couples opt to marry at home first and have a symbolic at their destination (no one will know unless you tell them). We are having a legal ceremony is anyone else? I am curious what paperwork we need etc. I did print out the link from Paradisus on what you need I was just curious if anyone has actually spoken to Perla about this and I havent asked her yet, just going by the website link.

Oh and Perla just got back to me today about the contract. Im not sure if she totally ignored my question but her response was "I can make any changes I want up to a week before the wedding after that no changes can be made." So I guess that means no contracthuh.gif? So confused.

I'm glad you brought up stress! Why did my body perform it's own version of the Master Cleanse on itself for the entire day on Saturday. I know my bathroom all too well now! It must've been food poisoning. Who would've guessed you can catch it from too much fiber!!! So I realized I was stressing myself about EVERY DETAIL of wedding planning, so I decided to take Sunday off. And now I'm back. And happily 4lbs lighter :)

Copy away ladies!

We are doing the legal ceremony as well - I cannot lie to anyone in my family so getting married at home just isn't an option for us! I ammm sooo relieved to hear that I am not the only one with regular wedding-induced diarrhea - sorry ladies - I had to say it!

LOL Melissa your FI is too funny. Its true though you know we are all guilty of referring to one another as "my friends on the forum." hehehehehe

So Perla confirmed the reception to be 4 hours long. I started freaking out b/c we have a 1 hour cocktail reception and no music, which I personally think is odd. When I asked my FI he said cocktail receptions are suppose to be quiet its a chance for guests to get to know one another and mingle. Do you think it will be odd to have a cocktail reception with no music? or am I just being a crazy person?

I cant add a mariachi or anything it will put us over budget maybe I can do a CD player that the hotel will rent out to me for like $400. smile120.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
