Do you think its weird to get married on a monday? We were waiting to hear back from Sandra for two weeks if she had a date available and the only one she had was a monday. We were considering a saturday in january but the price jumps by $1000 for a weeks stay. I'm not worried about myself but I'm worried about our guests. I have my heart set on dreams resort, nothing else looks good now! Do I go for the Monday with the great deal or the Saturday in January and have guests pay more? Help!!!!

My opinion…days of the week donâ€t mean much when youâ€re on a beautiful beach! When you think back to a great vacation you never woke up and said ahhh itâ€s Monday…you said ahhh itâ€s a perfect day! If the flights and price work out best for your guests then I would take the Monday.

We are having our wedding on a Tuesday...but in October. Figuring since people are coming in already does it really matter what day the wedding is onhuh.gif But a $1000 difference might make or break a trip for a lot of poeple. You and your FI should just decide what's improtant to you more people show up or you have it on a day that you imagine to be right. Good Luck muscle.gif

It is not unusual!!!! Many resorts have weddings (sometimeS 2 or 3) a day, EVERYDAY!! When you are on vacation you forget what day it is...except for the day you have to leave because everyone dreads it. Soo I say, no one will care your wedding is on Tuesday. What they will care about is if it costs way more!!

Also, just a possibility. Ask if a certain time is available for your wedding, not a day. Sandra may have a 5 pm wedding scheduled but has 1pm available but doesn't suggest it because most brides want a sunset ceremony. If you don't mind getting married late morning or early afternoon the day you want may be available. It's worth asking!!

I personally think day of the week doesn't matter one bit, I never even gave it a thought when I was planning. Although I can see if people are flying out for just the weekend, then you'd want a weekend wedding, but from Canada most people take a full week package as it's cheapest so I never thought about it at all.

VIDEOGRAPHER INFO UPDATE

As for the hunt for videographer info, I have finally received a response from Oscar Video, Dreams Tulum's videographer. There is a sample on his website Oscar Video - Cancun - Riviera Maya, I just had never been able to find it. You go to the page called "web events" which is a calendar of events (the weird thing is all the months are empty), and then you click on "demo" at the bottom. The video is 8 minutes long and is a highlights video of the guests before the ceremony, the ceremony, group photos, and then bride and groom wandering on the beach and the dock (it's not taken at Dreams Tulum).

If any past brides happen to watch the video can you please let me know if it's pretty similar to your video? I want to know what to expect. Ideally I would have liked to see several samples but at least one is better than none. I know somebody mentioned their video started with some shots of the resort, this one didn't have that but I think I would like mine to start that way.

I asked him other questions - like if I could get the full video + the edited video, as I really want the full video of the ceremony. I also asked if I pay for 1 hour if he'll be there for strickly one hour or stay a little longer (like hour and a half) but he didn't answer so I emailed him back asking those questions again.

Overall I thought the video was decent, not as good as others I've seen but I can see how most people would find it good enough. There were a few transitions I really did not like (the heart one, and the side to side one in between group photos) but I could probably just request that he only use the fade transition.

So now I have to decide if I want to pay 380$ for a one hour video with him, or 500$ for a 2 hour UNEDITED video from Mayan Riviera Wedding Mayan Riviera Weddings - Wedding photography & video (I would edit it myself using Windows Movie Maker) or 800$ for a 2 hour edited video + full ceremony footage from Paul at Playaweddings Playa Weddings - Videography in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya

Anyways I realize I'm providing lots of info but I'm just hoping this might be usefull for future brides or maybe somebody will be able to answer the questions I still have.

Thank you so much for responding. My mother and FI think it sounds weird but we're not having a traditional wedding as it is! Plus, who travels to Mexico for two nights? I don't think it would be worth it! Now I just have to convince my mother and most likely his mother. My sister said it wouldn't matter to them because they'll be there whatever day we want and for at least a week! I wish mothers would be so easy going! thanks so much for putting my mind at ease. I tend to over analyze things!!!

I've spent several hours looking at the 3 videographers web sites and videos and I liked Playa Weddings quite a bit more than the other two. To me, the fact that you can hear actual noices from the video instead of just music really makes a difference. Playa Weddings is offering to do a 2 hour shoot for $800.00, does he say how long his edited clip is? Will he give you the raw footage too? I rally liked them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
