Making Me Look Older

Recommended Posts

I know the feeling! When I just purchased an evening gown for a wedding, the sales lady asked if it was for my prom. Umm, yeah, 10+ years ago!

I say embrace that you look young. If it's what you actually look like, I don't see a problem with it.

If you do heavy makeup such as smokey eyes and dark eyeliner and you add volume to your hair you will look older. Or you can do lighter eyes and darker colored lip stick.

Take a look at these pics of Ali Lohan (Lindsay Lohan's sister). She is thirteen. She looks so much older in the second picture.

She looks so much older b/c her eyes are darker and instead of pin straight hair she added volume and a little bit of a pouf to her hair.

Doh! My bad ... I was thinking wow she looks just like Lindsay in the freckle-face pic. lol

Thanks ladies. I know that one day I will wish to look young again, but for now I want to at least look my age and not like a little kid. I was definitely looking at styles that have more volume, softer, and not pulled so tight. I have waist length ringlet hair that is beautiful and I don't want to change it. At least not 3 months before the wedding. I donate my hair every 4 years so I have to make sure that it is at least 10 inches long from where I would like it to end up. If I get my hair too short I am fro girl and I'm tooo lazy to straighten it and even then it goes curly in a couple of hours.

I will have to go get help with the make-up. I can count the number of times I have worn make-up my entire life on one hand.

i can feel your pain. i have a total baby face and am told i look way young. when i was in HS i was given crayons and a kiddy menu when we went to dinner once with my family....

im not much of a make up or hair guy so i cant give advice on that

BUTTTTT what i do advise you on is whatever is done make sure its not extreme . dont make the mistake a lot of brides do and really over do the make up and you end up not even looking like yourself. you want to be able to look back at your photos and say "damn i looked gooood" and not "who is that woman?"

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
