Oh My Aching Back!! What To Do??

I have been working out regularly since early January ... and although I expect to be sore on ceratin days ... my back has been killing me lately.

I don't know if I have been sleeping on it wrong, not stretching it enough after workouts ... or what ... but I'm in search of any suggestions or ideas.

I do stretch religiously, and get a massage every 3-4 weeks ... but my back, neck and shoulders area has been killing me for almost a week now, despite all of that. I never strength train 2 days in a row ... I opt for every other day with cardio and abs days in between.

From someone who has had two serious back surgeries in 6 months please take this seriously. It very well may be muscular but you dont know until you see a doc. I would go see a doc (ortho or some go to chiropractor). Be prepared for the doc to tell you to take some time off though. But in the long run this could be very serious. I dont mean to freak you out just dont be stubborn about it either.

Ouch! That does freak me out!

I do think it is muscular, but will definitely get things looked at.

Back issues are definitely no fun, and nothing to push aside. I have too many friends who have had issues too.

I agree, you should definitely go see a chiropractor. I've had back problems for years & never went to see one until recently when I started having shoulder & neck pain as well. It does help & I was amazed at the results that I noticed after going for the 1st week. It will take time for you to get 100% better but it really does help.

When my issues started I just thought I pulled a muscle. Next thing I knew I could barely walk. You just never know. I am infamous for self diagnosing and being totally wrong, doh!

Hey Tami. i am in the fitness field and deal with muscle soreness everyday of MY life, let alone, hearing about all my members' soreness after I work them out. What kind of things did you do the day before you notice the pain? Have you changed anything else about your daily activity, outside of your exercise? For example, have you been painting, moving, extra stressed, changed cars, driving more? I am just trying to think of things that I have experienced in causing back pain in the past. What kind of pain is it? Where does it start/end? Does it hurt all the time or just when you do certain things?

It hurts especially more when I lie on the couch or try to sleep in bed (no new mattress or anything). But I am so sore that it even wakes me up at night now. I wouldn't say it's pain ... but instead it's soreness.

FH and I lie on the couch together and watch TV and I had to keep switching positions, moving to the other end of the couch, etc b/c I was so sore and couldn't get comfortable.

But nothing is new/different...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
