OOT... What did your guests really use?

Recommended Posts

I think buying t-shirts there is great if you aren't planning on personalizing them - first off, less to carry down! Which is HUGE! And although they weren't this cheap everywhere, we saw the same deal at probably 10+ different places, so it is out there. We also saw deals like 3 bottles of rum for $10. We splurged a little and bought our guests coffee to take home (small 2oz bags) for $4 each. Also a big hit!

There are many options, travel mugs, stadium cups, DIY cups etc...

So true, the biggest advantage is in not having to pack all those shirts to take down. I also forgot about the great coffee & rum! My list of ideas gets longer & longer! : )

No problem. If I didn't have BDW & these ladies, I'd be so lost. Helping each other out is what we're all here for.cheer2.gif

I did simple paper gift bags b/c I personally wouldn't reuse a bag with someone's wedding logo on it so I decided to save money there.

here is what we included (I think this is everything...):

welcome letter

dove chocolates

alka-seltzer

crystal light individual flavor packets (hotel gives bottled water in every room)

emergen-c (energy/immune booster)

custom bookmark

chap stick

sunscreen (little travel tube from target $1)

pack of eclipse gum

travel candle and matches

pashmina for the ladies

cigar for the men

bolded items are the ones that people commented on the most. Pashminas were a very big hit. I bought three colors and let the ladies choose their own.

Where are these logos coming from? How do I make one and how do I go about printing them out to put on everything?

The "fabric" of the bag is almost like a rubbery/vinyl texture so I thought it would be great to put a wet suit in if our guests decide to swim the last day before heading home.

Good price. I'm going to pull out a ruler & see if i think these will be big enough. I'd like people to be able to tote some stuff to the pool.

We are doing one bag per couple (got the $0.79 natural canvas bags from Promotional tote bags custom sizes and styles from cheap totes) and putting two travel mugs in each for the couples and one each if they are a single.

In the DR, I've heard a lot about mosquitoes, especially at night -- so as an affordable alternative to 40 mosquito bite anti-itch sprays/lotions ... we are taking an economy pack of dryer sheets and small ziplock bags. The dryer sheets are used to rub on your skin after being bitten to stave off the itch. I'll also have a sticker on the outside of the ziploc so our guests know what it's for.

My Mom got small individual packs of Avon Skin-So-Soft to add to the bags as bug spray. It works great and if you know an Avon rep, she can order samples for next to nothing. See if she will order some for your bags!!

Oh... I just remembered the other thing people really liked... afterbite! We got them on drugstore.com in packs 2/$3. It was a splurge, but we gave 1 per couple/family, and for those that did get bitten, they were a big hit. Tami's idea is much more affordable though :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
