Thanks for your honesty... that is pretty much my concern as well. No matter how I picture the design... whether it has our names/date or has nothing to do with us and is on our location... I imagine most people only wearing it while we are there and then not again (except for painting/working out/whatever).

Hmm... I guess I'll just have to see what price I can get them at and see if its worth it.

After reading this I decided to hold on to all my OK magazines that come in before the wedding. I'll throw them in the bags. They will be a month or two old, but I think guests will still enjoy them.

I'm a little embarassed I get OK, but it was only $2 for a year. I can't find that deal anymore, but I got my gma a 2yr for $7.50 on ebay yesterday. She was thrilled.

When you go to a bar in an AI you get "little plastic cups" when you order a drink. If you take the travel mug with you, the bartender will usually put your drink in your mug as opposed to the "little plastic cup"! So you get more to drink & you make less trips to the bar for drinks & you have a nice souvenior/keepsake from the wedding. Its a win-win situation I guess. LOL

There are many options, travel mugs, stadium cups, DIY cups etc...

If anyone is concerned about filling a huge bag, consider getting a smaller OOT bag. I ordered these from Oriental Trading. I'll be giving one per person and I should be able to fit a travel mug, a few snacks, some advil, pepto and our itinerary in it.

The "fabric" of the bag is almost like a rubbery/vinyl texture so I thought it would be great to put a wet suit in if our guests decide to swim the last day before heading home.

These are really cute! And pretty good price. Can you post photos once you get them... I have trouble visualizing the size and how well mugs and stuff will fit in them! Thanks :)_

I had big ideas for my bags, but when it came down to it I pretty much filled it with edibles and few cheapie things.

I saw people using the canvas bags for beach bags and for going to the market.

We did not put our names or date on them, just location.

People used the chapstick and the Motrin and Immodium.

I think all the local goodies were eaten.

We got the cheap cactus shot glasses from OTC, don't think they were used very much, but we used them at our honeymoon resort that had liquor bottles in the room!

For those going to Jamaica... we kept seeing shirts in the straw market and stores that were 7 shirts for $20. They were screenprinted with something Jamaican on them... the embroidered ones were a wopping 5 for $20! Just something to keep in mind... I know the Vistaprint deal, but you still pay for shipping which is $4-5 per shirt. Also, if you buy plain shirts and iron-on a logo, it will probably be more expensive. Just a thought.

From our wedding - everyone used the towels and bags the whole trip. The sunscreen, Off Wipes, gum, meds and beachballs were also used. The flip-flop cards and notepads - not so much. They were cute though. We bought shell leis from OTC, and surprisingly, people wore them! I also got the girls glass starfish necklaces, and they all wore them.

Our resort wasn't too buggy, but if you are staying someplace know for the mosquitos, mosquito coils will be a BIG hit with your guests. They are pretty cheap at REI-type places. Also, from our ceremony, the fans were DEFINITELY used - and not just by the women - lol!

I totally did not think about buying the shirts while we were there! This would work since we aren't personalizing them. I was going to use the same design from my OOT bag on the shirt but buying the shirts there is definitely an option.
Thanks again for all of your help/suggestions.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
