Becky, thats a great question. You should definitely ask Chandlyn for confirmation.

I will once I finally confirm my wedding date. Sadly they keep rejecting my 2009 wedding request citing they don't have the ministers scheduled yet. Originally they told me they would open availability in Feb... then it was March... now they are telling me April. sad.gif Argh.... I just want to know for sure so I can start making things up with the correct date! I noticed that they just put up 2009 rates on their wedding site... so maybe thats a good sign. I will just keep having my TA submit our request weekly until they finally let me book. wink.gif

Good luck with that! Like you said it has to be a good sign now that the 2009 rates are up. Have you tried to contact the Wedding Sales Coordinator Carolina?

No ... I am "trying" to be patient with everything. I'm hoping that since I can't request mine, no one else should be able to either, so it will turn out okay. I am going for a Monday... which I can't imagine would be the most popular option anyways. However, the being patient thing was when they told us we would get confirmation in Febuary/March... not March/April.

Do you think it would be helpful to call? Or should I just keep waiting it out? I know it must be a ton of logistics on there part... but as my plans are for the first week in January that is less than 11 months away now! Plus I was really hoping to get alot of the DIY and other projects done by May-ish before I start rotations (and while my MOH aka scrapbook queen is in town to help me!). lol ... but basically I just want to know! :)

Why don't you contact Carolina. She's at the main office & may be able to help you. When I had a problem with my date, I contacted her & she was able to get me the date that I wanted, which initially wasn't available.
Here's her info:

She's very good about responding to emails so maybe try emailing her first with your concern. If she doesn't respond then try calling. Hope this helps.

What we did was take the originals to the notary showed them to her and then she typed up a letter saying she saw the original documents and verifies that we are those people and then she notarized the letter. then we made copies of our documents and just sent them with the notarized letter and that worked out fine.
I can't believe everyone has had so many problems. When I went to the bank I had photocopies and I had the actual birthcertificates and passports and the lady notarized the copies and then had me sign them. Quick and easy!

I am a little concerned though about the address I sent them too b/c the "faqs" page on the RIU site says PO Box, but there is no number so that's how I addressed the envelop. Then last night I was looking thru the PDF file from the site and the address had a PO Box number! I did send it registered mail, but I don't want it to get returned 2 or 3 weeks from now. GRRRRR

Hi
I originally sent my copies to the address with the PObox--- and Chandlyn got them ok so you should be fine. I kinda wondered though too

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
