undergarment question

Recommended Posts

I assume you're asking me - I got the cotton one, both for hoopskirt and petticoat. I definitely recommend cotton, just b/c it breathes so much better. I had to wear a petticoat during a play once, and it was the polyester/taffeta kind, and I sweated like mad - it was terrible!

maybe I'll have to try the hoop skirt, I think I may have one from a halloween costume. I don't want my dress to be very poufy and a lot of the ones I tried on had so much material underneath, its crazy!! I had sweat dripping down my legs in the store, and its not very warm right now here in massachusetts, so I'm just really worried about really sweating in mexico. But it sounds like the hoop skirt lets you get some air underneath, so that might be good, I'll have to try one.

Good to know Kate, thanks! I can't believe I've never bought these before...

so I am wearing a bustier with cups sewn into it aswell cause i need a lot of help in that area..they gave me their smallest sized bustier and i still couldnt fill it out sad.gif also i am wearing crinoline under my dress and lots of it and than my dress is big enough as it is so this might be interesting...my bridesmaids will need to carry a towel around to dry me off
Wow Edyta, that's alot of under-carriage going on there! Since you & I have the same dress, I'm glad you posted this. I felt like the dress had plenty of "ooomph" for me...it has like 3 layers of crinoline built in. I totally do not need more. I am also glad that there is a cotton skirt layer between me & the crinoline. I cannot imagine how much hotter your situation is going to be! You are so right though - it's the one day you get to look like a total diva/princess, so do whatever you need to do sista!!

Well, like I've said before Edyta, I have a lot of muscular bootie going on, so that probably makes up for the 6 extra layers you will use :) Remember, you are petite & I am more athletic...so we shall see. I know, I"m so excited!! I am calling my seamstress next week to start alterations. EEK!!

I'm bringing this post back to life! (Following the rules msnwink.gif ) So is this something I need to try on with my dress or can I buy it somewhere - say like Ebay?? I definitely need one with my dress - it has pick ups on it and doesn't have any crinoline or anything underneath - but I am not sure if I need to go to the bridal store to try it on or just buy one?? HELP!

First - way to go on the not starting a new thread plan!!!

Second - I bought my Spanx at Nordies and tried it on with my dress at my first fitting. It probably saved me $$ because I didn't have to have the body portion taken in. I don't know if you have to do it that way, but it worked for me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
