Other message boards ... not so nice

Recommended Posts

Hi, Girls

So ... I've been kind of bored at work today and was on some random Knot message boards. I couldn't believe what I saw - so many of those girls acted like complete, well, not-nice-girls.

The catfighting and smart-ass comments were completely out of line ... it was the nasty female stereotype to the extreme. What's the point of a message board if it isn't (a) helpful and (B) polite/kind/compassionate, etc.

Anyways, just wanted to say how much I *LOVE* BDW, and how great all of you are.

I can't speak about any board directly b/c I have never viewed any other board. However I have never been able to understand why people feel the need to be cruel to each other. We are all here, sharing in the excitement of our weddings. Most people who are engaged are thrilled and want to share that joy with others. Moreover, I've never understood how people can be so judgmental and mean to people they have never met before. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Call me cheesy but I'm glad we have nice girls on here who are willing to help one another. Think of how excited we each get when we see one of our BDW friends return with pics from her wedding. We want each of us to have the best wedding ever and I think that's what makes us different from a lot of boards (although I'm sure there are a lot of other perfectly nice boards as well)

*Okay I'm going to step off my soapbox now*

Yeah, I really don't get it either. I used to be on a message board and ppl were always trying to "own" fellow members. I was mainly on there because an ex of mine was - so glad that's over!!!

grouphug.gif I *heart* BDW

hijacked.gif Speaking of "I *heart*..." - GLENDA, is that a picture of you and your FI?!? Y'all are adorable!!!!

I'm ditto-ing everone else so far, like Maura I lurked on a few other boards before I found this one, and they were awful! I think they just don't have the same kind of moderating, and there are waaayyyy too many regulars for people to become close like us. I think that really helps with the tightness we all feel towards eachother, even tho the majority of us have never met.

BDW ROCKS and I am so glad we have the opportunity to share together!! It's been a lifesaver in more ways than one.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
