Anyone getting married at Playa del Sol Gran

Recommended Posts

Hola Verenicce

Last September I spent a week in the Playa del Sol Grand on my site visit. Playa Del Sol Grand is not a resort but is a really nice hotel, the gardens are so pretty! Thereâ€s a river with tons multi-color fishes and even turtles... The food at the Italian restaurant is really really good.. We tried different dishes to share and was plenty, tasteful and very well presented.

The main restaurant where the buffet for breakfast is not as good as the Italian, but is not bad at all... All the rooms have kitchenettes and are pretty comfy, you have fridge, stove, microwave so you can go and buy groceries in Puerto Vallarta, at Wal-Mart which I recommend, because the grocery store at NV is kind of expensive compared of what you can get from PV. The hotel is like 25 min on cab from the PV Downtown, so the cab rates are not going to be cheap.

There is also the option for the all inclusive which I think was like $55 per person/ day. We didnâ€t use that option and we were at the beach with our coolers filled up with sodas, beer, water and snacks… so is really a kind of relax atmosphere.

For a wedding the PDSG is a good option, the sunset view from the infinity pool is AMAZING!!! The sand on the beach is really soft and nice and the sea is really nice to swim. The infinity pool is really nice and the pool area surrounded by palm trees and lighted in the nights could be a really nice option for your reception and the beach for the ceremony will work perfect for a small wedding. I donâ€t know if they will serve food from the Italian rest for a wedding, but if you can get it that will be great.

Thank you so much Edna for all this great information about PSG. It's really helping us make a decision on our location. now we're only down to 2 places PSG and Mayan Palace. I know you're getting married at the Mayan Palace just like other girls here at the forum, I've never been to the location myself but I've seen many pics of the wedding there and it also looks like an amazing location so we really need to make a decision soon so we can reserve our date. Do you think the palace would be the perfect location for a wedding of 50 guest?

Gracias Edna

Hola Verenicce,

Yes I am getting married at the Mayan Palace in PV.. and is a lovely place. I have posted a lot of pics as well as other brides around. I think the size of the wedding is not a problem there, Christine did a wonderful table setup and looked so beautiful. Have you seen her pics?

Hola Verenicce,

I love Mayan Palace , the rocks on the side made the beach private and the lounge furniture is very nice, the decor at the lobby is beautiful, I havent tasted the food yet but my WC said it was one of the best from PV.

Don't worry you have time to start and finish everything perfectly, I feel the same.. I am so happy of being part of this wonderful forum!!!

Let us know how we can help .. and thank you for offering it too!!!

Saludos!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
