Hi Glenda,

the inside area is kind of small and i think can only fit 40...also, they may not allow it to end much later than outdoor parties...my guests just hoped into a cab and went into cabo for dancing/partying.

Supposedly, there is a true meeting place/banquet room at Dreams Cabo. I didn't take a look at it unfortunately so I can't state how many it would hold. I was expecting 75 and Marianna never stated that it couldn't accomidate our guests. In this room you can party till 1am/2am.

Hmmm someone named Yessica from Dreams contacted me and told me that there is an indoor room called Los Pelicanos Room that holds 20 to 80 people for a served dinner and 20 to 60 for a buffet room. And she also told me about El Dorado Room which she says holds 20 to 120 for served dinner and 20 to 100 for buffet service. Has anyone seen these rooms? She also told me that the inside ballroom has no limit of time. For those of you who are getting married/got married at Dreams did you like La Cascada Terrace or the Oceana Terrace better?

glenda,

i had my private welcome dinner at oceana terrace on friday and my reception at cascade terrace.

they were BOTH wonderful spots to get married.

i posted pics of both spots.

rebecca used oceana for her reception and the pics looked gorgeous.

just depends on what you are looking for. i never considered having my reception indoors because it just cabo is so beautiful, to have an outdoor ceremony/reception is such a plus to me. the only place i thought of was indoor/outdoor (portofino) for the welcome dinner.

what was the approx. costs your guest paid?? The Dreams resorts look really nice. Does it have a contemporary feel? I'm also looking at Dreams Cancun. Do you know how Dreams Cancun compares with Dreams Caboshuh.gif (I heard Tulum doesn't have any night life so I ruled out that Dreams resort)

I want to make it as affordable for my guests as possible. I have friends who honeymooned in Cabo and they ranted and raved about Sunset Da Mona Lisa, so I was thinking of having the reception there. And Dreams seems like a nice place to have the guests stay. All help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Glenda,

This is exactly what my thought process was last week too! Stay at Dreams for the AI and have ceremony/reception at Sunset da Mona Lisa. It looks sooo beautiful from the pictures.

I haven't finished reading the rest of this string of postings, but I believe we probably need to think less nyc and more DW.

wendy, one of our brides (karla) had her reception at Sunset da Mona Lisa and there was alot of construction going on and it was a pain to go to the beach to take pics (they had to get in a 4 wheel drive truck)...just FYI.

here is a quote from her review:
Quote:
When I arrived the day of the wedding, I could still hear one construction worker hammering away. Tim later told me that he was so angry that construction was still going on, that he complained to Georgina. Georgina told him that it was not something that neither she nor the restaurant could control… even thought we had been told otherwise the day before. The construction beside the restaurant is visible from the terraces. It did not distract enough away from the beautiful views, but I still wished that they could have left the rolling green hills alone. I believe it is going to be a parking lot in the future, which unfortunately will be a big eye sore.

I really think this restaurant truly shines during sunset and in the evening hours. The day of the wedding the place looked amazing. I walked into the salon and it had been transformed from storage room, to an elegant reception area. The views from the salon were spectacular. The entire restaurant is lit up with candles and these amazing light fixtures hanging from the palapa. We used 3 terraces for the wedding ceremony which ended up being a really nice setup. The wedding party was in a small terrace and the rest of the guests were divided into 2 other terraces with the Mexican Trio in the middle in a part of the terrace that jutted out a bit. The wait staff was great and one of the managers Luis has a great handle on the entire restaurant. We were greeted with margaritas and beer upon us walking out of the ceremony. The wait staff was already walking down to the terraces with drinks to start the cocktail hour.

Due to the construction and the hurricanes the path to the beach from the restaurant is not accessible. The beach is only accessible if you go through the construction area with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We had to pile the whole wedding party into 2 vehicles to go take pictures down there.

The presentation and the taste of the food were amazing. I had the steak and it was so tender. The mashed potatoes were a very small serving, but so good! I asked around regarding all the dishes and everybody said they loved it. I took pictures of most of the dishes, so check the pictures folders.

Sunset Da Mona Lisa IS beautiful... except for the construction. If any of you are looking to have your wedding there, don't hesitate to ask me any questions.

Tammy, I'm glad you posted my quote. I just noticed that I had promised pics in the vBPicGallery. I'll try to post those today for you guys to take a look.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
