Well to be honest, FI don't want to get married there anymore! The room was really nice, the Spa was awesome. We had a couple's massage and it was worth it! The thing we didn't like was that we had to wait an hour or two every night to have a place to sit in one of the restaurant... He hated that part! The food was really good. The beach was rocky! Overall it was not that bad but it depends on what are your expectations...

The wait at the resturants really do suck! But if you have alot of people with you...or even if it's just you two, you can put your name on the list an hour or so before you want to eat, go back to your room and get ready or go over to the bar and have some drinks and hang out until the table to ready. We had that issue every night since we had 30 plus people with us and most nights we had at least 15 people in our party for dinner. We had up to a 2-3 hour wait some nights....which was fine because we put our name in early and hung out and had drinks by the beach. It really did work out. But if you have people that want to eat quick, they have the buffet that never had a wait and also the resturant on the beach usually only had a 15 minute wait. Sorry I'm totally rambling, but my point is, if the wait at the resturants are the only thing that is keeping him from the resort, there are ways of going around it.

I think the wait can depend on when you are there also. When Karen and I got married there in July the most we ever had to wait was about 20 minutes or so. Most of the time there was no wait at all.

Ultimately, it comes down to what you choose to make your day perfect for you. All the things that we loved about it may be a thorn in the side to other people.

You can always order room service while you're getting ready. The Sugar Reef Bar is where all of our guest met every night, and yes, there is plenty of room for everyone to hang out together. You can also order nachos and things like that from the bar. We always got guacamole and pico with chips. Their nachos rocked! The Sugar Reef is very close to all the resturants, so someone can walk over and check on the table.

And what if you were planning on doing a welcome party of some sort? cocktails? apps? is that just at a bar where you meet at or is that something actually planned and put aside for your party?

Same question for the rehearsal dinner? So confused...

Planning a site visit end of february or beginning of march? hopefully!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
