Random Acts of Kindess

I know there has been a recent post about people being rude so I thought I'd start one about people being kind. :)

This morning I went in to get a coffee at the local BP and stupidly I overfilled my cup to the very brim. An elderly man offered to pour some it out for me and I told him he didn't have to because it was so hot but he insisted that better he get burned than me. So he carried it over to the sink with the boiling hot liquid pouring all over his hand. He just smiled and gave it back to me after. I thanked him over and over again. What a completely unecessary and kind thing for him to do don't you think?

Anyway, this has prompted me to try and be more generous and kind towards others around me. So this morning at work I took on a project that I know my assistant has been dreading. Now it's done and she doesn't have to worry about it.

Let's keep the chain of kindess going, especially in the spirit of the season, so what kind act have you done today?

Well I'm not sure it this qualifies, but it definitely surprised me. I spend 90 minutes trying to get to the highway this morning & ran into nothing but flooded roads (hence road closures). I called my boss to let him know I may never get there & he said "no prob, stay safe." My boss is so whacky, I figured he would berate me...

My mom just emailed me to let me know that the guy who lives next door to her just shoveld her driveway and sidewalk in front of her house. He went over to thank him and he said he would happily do it again! She is going to go buy him a gas gift card so he can fill up his Snowblower. My mom's drive way is VERY long it it takes a long time to clear it off so this is a super big deal.

How sweet.

I guess I can pay it forward--Anyone want to come over so I can practice my new massage techniques? Sounds kinky but it isn't

I know that this is somewhat of a sad post on a "happy" thread. But thought I would mention one of our patients (I work in a doctors office). Hes my favorite, comes in all the time just to give us hugs and tells all the girls in the office we were the daughters we never had. I just saw him on thursday in our office and he was going on and on about how he loves to come in just to see us (not that were anything great but he loves to make us happy). Well he was in thursday for chest pain and died of a heart attack last night. I usually am not affect when a patient dies, not that I have no emotions but I try to detach myself otherwise it would be too hard. But the whole office was devistated today. I guess in a nutshell what I am trying to say is that "random acts of kindness" usually mean alot more to the person who receives it that the person who gives it... so it never hurts to put a smile on someones face!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
