Prices in Riu Ocho Rios

Recommended Posts

Hello All!

I've been enjoying all the reads on this forum. It answered alot of questions we have. I do have one questions of my own....

For those of you who have stayed or going to be staying at Riu Ochos Rios, how much was it to stay for a week...roughly...and which month?

We went to the travel agent today and got some prices for April 2008 and they quoted us about $2000 (taxes in). Now this is not considering any group discounts or advance booking. We're planning our wedding in April 2009, and since the prices are not out for 2009 yet...it's been hard for us to get an idea of how much it's going to cost our guests.

Thanks!!

J&R

We'll be there April 1-April 8. For two people in a Junior Suite, airfare, all transfers & taxes we're paying just over $3000. For two people staying in a 'normal' room with all of the above for 7 days, it's about $2400. My mom is staying in a single for 6 days and is paying about $1600. Hope this helps!!

(they all include airfare of about $500ish per person)

Hey Julia,

Since you're in Ottawa, I assume you're flying Sunquest? Since it's the only Canadian tour operator that goes to the Riu's?

For my February 2008 wedding, flying out of Calgary, we are paying $1970 + 262.90 taxes. So your quote is in line with that, but flying out of Ontario... I think you should get a slightly better rate!

Wow, I always guessed that it would be cheaper for you Americans and Canadians to the Carribean, but looking at this is seems not!

We have paid £1067 each (around $2000) and that includes everything for 2 weeks (transf, airport taxes etc)

How long is the flight for you? its almost 10 hours from here, I pity my MOH, she has a 2 and half year old and a 9 month old!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
