Dress dilemma!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I need some advice.

I found 2 dresses online and I'm almost positive one of them will be 'the one'. Here's the problem...they are from the Spring 2008 collection and won't be in stores until December or January! The stores I have spoken with that will be getting them assured me that I could still order it that late and still have it for my July wedding, but I'm scared!

Should I order without trying it on? Or push it and wait a month or two? Or just look for something else? Ah, I don't know what to do!!

BTW, here are the dresses...

There is no way I could've ordered my dress without trying it on. I know a lot of girls have done that, but I liked a lot of dresses that looked awful on me. If you can try on a similar shape by the same designer, and you still love it, then it shouldn't be a problem. But, if that's not possible, I honestly think you should be ok if you order it in December.

I think I like the first one better (love the detailing on the bust and the train); but, I must agree w/ the other gals. I think it's all about the "fit" of any outfit. You could have the most expensive couture gown, not have it flatter your body-type or not have it tailored just right...it won't look as beautiful. Just my thoughts....

The first dress is stunning!

I agree with the other posts that you should wait. I too ended up with a completely different dress than what I had imagined (and bought for my first dress at Filene's Basement bridal sale). Plus, you should have plenty of time if you order in december and your wedding is in July.

Both dresses are beautiful, but i"m in agreement with the other ladies, DEFINITELY try it on. I looked an tons of dresses on line, loved them, went to try them on and looked blaugh!! you don't want to regret your decision...just keep yourself busy until they come in. you'll feel more confident in your decision.

I love love love these dresses, I was looking for one like that to try on when I tried on my dress but had no luck. Mon Cheri dresses fit really nicely, I almost got one of their dresses, Serena. BUT, I think you need to try them on. All those pleats, what if they sit in the wrong spots and make your hips look huge or look kinda maternity around the belly or something. I think you should go out and try dresses on, to get an idea of what other dresses are like and what styles you like and then go and try these 2 on when you can. Then make your decision. There are also a lot of online vendors that sell Mon Cheri dresses a lot cheaper. But, you need to try them on first.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
