Wedding cake !

Recommended Posts

The decision of the cake is hard to make...chocolate lovers? vanilla lovers? both? Having a beach wedding means you will probably not see or taste your wedding cake before the wedding...

Here is a nice web site I found about beach cake:

Unique Beach Wedding Favors Gifts Cake Decorations Toppers Ideas

For those who are already married, would it be possible for you to put a picture of your cake and tell us about it (taste-texture-satisfaction...).

This will give all the future brides some ideas as well as some good advice ! Don't forget to tell us which hotel chef made the cake...that will help the brides getting married at the hotel you got married at (if it's the case)

Thanks !

Annie, I wish I could help you. Maggie and Tadd are having cupcakes instead of a wedding cake. Somewhere there is a picture that Tammy (host) posted. The picture is what Maggie has asked the baker to duplicate. Which reminds me, I need to order the cupcake liners b4 I forget again!

I do know that a some of the girls have gotten the Leche cakes. My granddaughter's mom is Mexican and for all of the birthday parties she orders this cake. Not one of my faves, but people who enjoy cake seem to really like it.

Hope someone else can help you. If I find the post w/the photo I will send it to you.

Here it is!

Thanks Lizzi ! Those are very cute cupcakes ! And yes, I did see Tammy's cupcake pictures (the one that got married to Cain not so long ago)! They were beautiful and that is what gave me the the idea to start this thread so we could all see everybodies cake (or cupcakes) at one precise place.

My granddaughter's mom is Mexican...I'm confused here...in other words your daughter is Mexican (or stepdaughter)huh.gif?

I will probably just end up in the kitchen with the chef and help him out baking the cake ... I wan't it to be simple but elegant as well as peanut free (and no ingredients that may contain traces of peanuts...like for example certain chocolates).

I love to bake but my talent as a cake decorations limits itself to Disney Princess, Dora the Explorer, Barbie and Winney the Pooh ! rofl.gif

I wish I could find a bakery in Riviera Maya that has peanut free cake... they are hard to find in Montreal so I can't imagine in Mexico !

Hmmm I don't have my wedding pictures in front of me to post, but my slideshow has a pic of ours. (it's actually the very first slide) Ours were individual cakes, buttercream frosting with choc. ganache inside (we LOVE choc).. The cake was soo yummy, however the buttercream frosting was too much suger for my taste, but most icing is. (except the cheap stuff you can buy in the stores, I could eat that by the spoon full,, lol)

I think I am going to have the same issue. My FI is allergic to peanuts and chocolate! I want to go the cupcake route because I love chocolate. I'd like to do cheesecake, but I am picky with cheesecake (unless I make it or it is from Cheesecake Factory). I also don't care for buttercream frosting, but I don't know if whipped cream frosting will work. THe reception won't be outside so maybe we'll be OK.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
