Mayan Brides! Trash the dress shoot????

Also, I bought a second dress for the shoot. I know I will probably never use my wedding dress again, but my Mom would faint if I told her I was going to take a chance at ruining it somehow:)

I am not sure how far away you are (I think Tulum is about half hour away) but my WC is trying to get me permission to do my TTF pictures at Xcaret Park...

 

OH, and my photographer is also Elizabeth Medina. I could go on about how great she is, but I think her pictures speak for themselves

^ I e-mailed Elizabeth Medina and got her price quotes... but it mentions nothing about a TTDS? are you just splitting up your time?

I asked her to quote me a price for the TTD and just add it on to my package.

Just so you know, Professional photography at an mayan ruin like: Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza, and any BIG public spot, is forbidden by mexican govt. I'm not saying it hasnt been done before, but the brass tax on the matter is that ya just can't do it. There is a major permit process and we have yet to investigate this yet. We do however, know of a local ruin in playa del carmen, smaller and yet pretty cool, surrounded by jungle and near a private beach, where we go quite a bit. Sol & I do our best to reply immediately. First thing to consider though, if you havent received a reply is to check your JUNK MAIL FOLDER. This is the biggest problem we have right now with our reply emails. IF YOU HAVE A YAHOO ACCOUNT, watch out. I'd say this happens to me at least 1 or 2 times per week. We can't do anything about it either... Yahoo is notorious about it. We are considering adding a disclaimer about checking your junk mail folders, some which, are set to auto delete! OUCH.

One thing to consider, we absolutely love doing these sessions with our clients. We consider them adventures and bonding time with our clients. We live here, so we know many many places, some far and remote. We invest our whole afternoon and sometimes the entire day for these sessions, documenting the entire event. We know where to go to catch sunsets on beaches (mayan riviera faces east )and what cenotes to hit too. We have been to swim with whale sharks in the gulf with our clients, such an adventure! The rates aren't the most inexpensive, but one must consider the investment... We shoot weddings every day of the year. We have about 8 weddings in November, 4 or so TTD sessions...a TTD session is almost as important to us as a wedding day is...

ICK! forget that! hahaha! Photography seems to be taking up a big chunk of our budget! adding tax and such.... I dont want to go thru the hassell Im not too worried... the beach should be fine

I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE your work and wish you were in my budget other wise I'd use you in a heartbeat! I mentioned in another thread Id sell my first born to get photographs done by you two lol! your work is amazing!!!! we'll see...

I also aked for a separate quite for the TTD from Elizabeth Medina and decided to add it onto the package. However, I believe if you take time out of your wedding day package, you could include it for the same price. I didn't want to take any time away from my package, so I decided to do the TTD early the next morning.

Ah, man! A TTD shoot at the ruins would be incredible. Shoot.

 

Well, if anyone knows of someone who did it, albeit how no-no it was, I'd love to see the pics. I'm not condoning it, but I bet its gorgeous.

 

On another note, I'm wondering....."trash" is a relative term isn't it? I mean, its sand and water....I'm hoping that if we choose to do this, I can 'save' the dress at a professional cleaners I'm not planning to wear a very ornate dress....

I was wondering this too?? ? How many brides were able to salvage their dress enough to pack it up real nice? ??

Exceptionally relative. Most of our clients actually wear their dress at home for a reception.

Like you said, sand and water.
