Dreams Cancun Beach Wedding

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Well on our last e-mail, Daniela mentioned to me that if I wanted a beach ceremony, it could be set up. She briefly mentioned that it would be in a private spot too, but I haven't read anywhere in these forums of anyone having a beach ceremony @ Dreams Cancun. I was actually considereing Dreams Tulum because of this, but chose Dreams Cancun instead because of the location for my guests. I'm undecisive. The Gazebo looks amazing too...

Plus, I was also thinking If I have a beach ceremony, where would be appropriate to have my cocktail & reception if not at the beach too. How are you going about your big day??

I think you're right most of us getting married at dreams cancun fell in love with the gazebo, for me I think that was the selling point, I loved it, it made dreams stand out to me from the other resorts I looked at. But I can totally understand you wanting a wedding on the beach too, we would have done that if it weren't for the gazebo.

I haven't seen any pictures of weddings on the beach there, so I can't really comment on how private it is. You could have your cocktail hour and reception on the beach too, but thats more personal preference. I love the beach reception setup if you have a large group. For a small group it just wouldn't have the same effect. Have you seen the pictures of the beach set up? So pretty!! It almost looks magical!

If I were doing a beach ceremony with our size group I would either do a garden reception or the terrace.

We are doing the garden for the cocktail hour and the terrace for the reception.

Okay, I don't know if I really helped at all, lol, or if I just rambled. But let me know if I can help with anything else.

oh, btw, I also looked into dreams tulum and probably would have gone with it, but I didn't want my guests that could only come down for a few days, spending half of their time on a bus & a plane.

Exactly...!!! Well you pretty much understand where i'm coming from then. I'm really considering the gazebo afterall. Oh by the way, are you planning any group activites for your group, once there? If so, do the WC's help you out with any of this or are you expected to go about it on your own?

Also, right now I don't know if my date is certain, cause I haven't made any payments. From what I understand, doesn't dreams require a 50% deposit to reserve your datehuh.gif? I'm actually getting really worried with this.

Would you happen to know Daniella Castillo's direct phone number? worried2.gif

well, my TA reserved my date and Claudia told me I didn't need to send a deposit because they have a very good relationship with my travel agency, but I wanted to send something, I actually didn't send a deposit until about a week ago, and my wedding is in 2 weeks.

but I think if you're booking on your own, then yes you do need to give a deposit.

I do not have Daniellas phone number, I've actually only spoken to Claudia.

We aren't planning any group activities. I think our activities will be more casual, like I'll probably try to get everyone to meet up for brunch on sunday before they leave for the airport. And maybe the night before the wedding try to get everyone to meet up for drinks after dinner. But we didn't have the money to pay for a welcome dinner, etc... I did schedule a fishing trip for the boys, but I did that on my own.

Wow, two weeks ago.. well I'm also in the process of working w/ a travel agent here in jersey. But she's actually taking very long. What travel agent are you using? If you don't mind me asking. Also, just a quick question about the invites. Must I include everything that I have planned for the guests onto the invites? I mean how else are they to know what the wedding weekend willl look like? Because I'm actually considering doing (message in a bottle invites). although I heard that they may be cheap to make, but costly to mail out. What do you think?

Dreams is surrounded by water on 3 sides. There's a spot on one of the sides with a small beach and there's also palapa huts lined up (it's next to the gazebo). That beach is fairly quiet so great for private parties. We're getting married in the gazebo but will definitely go to the beach to take photos. Whatever you decide for your ceremony, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. Either are great choices...

Congratulations on your site selection. That was probably the hardest part for me also. I chose to have my ceremony in Cancun because of the gazebo, the dolphins for the children and golf for the spouse (while I get my spa treatment!). I love the fact that the resort is not as large as the high rise properties and it has a secluded feel to it! If you need any help, there are a lot of ladies in this forum with lots of valuable info and insight! Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
