Have you ever visited Barbados ?

I am considering Barbados for my DW. I checked a couple of nice hotels and loved the idea of small all-inclusive hotels. I was wondering if anyone ever had a chance to visit Barbados. Most of the couples celebrating their wedding in Mexico, DR in Jamaica and too many in Aruba or Barbados.

Please let me know if you have any info about Barbados. Thank you.

Ok, I don't think this is going to help much ... but I have been to Barbados and loved, loved, LOVED it! problem is - it was on a cruise! so i didn't stay on the island anywhere. i just remember it being super lush and beautiful. again - probably doesn't help, but it was my favorite island of all the islands we went to!

I've been to Barbados last Oct. It is Beautiful there. We didn't stay in the nicest hotel...it was okay. but the beaches, the ocean and the people are amazing. we could see sea turtles swimming around us in the ocean. The island is small, I think 26 miles or so around. the local food is good but greasy. if you go to a nice restaurant, it's very good. we stayed not too far from all the bars and restaurants in St. Lawrence Gap, which is fun to walk around. they have live karaoke contests, you can snorkel, or take a submarine ride. what other questions do you have?

we stayed in Christ Church which is easy to walk to St. Lawrence Gap. I found the hotel we stayed at, only ranked 2 stars on trip advisor...i'd agree, but it was nice enough. few complaints would be the A/C didn't work that well and the beds weren't "Heavenly", but the staff was great and again the beach was amazing there. here's a link to Southern Palms

They speak English, very easy to communicate and get around. We were with a group of friends and were adventurous enough to take public transportation...that was a bit scary for me. but fun. Some of the locals may give blonde women a little more attention but they are harmless. they are very sweet and fun to chat with.

I've been to Barbados many many many times ! Even while I was pregnante ... the only thing is that it is very expensive if you want an allinclusive that is ok or better than ok. For 1 week, you should budget at least 2500$ per person per week.

We always rent a Villa there (less $ but you have to make your own meals). Meat is soooo expensive there not to forget fruits + veggies ! Eg. a brocoli is about 9$ US, a bag of diapers is 60$, milk is 7$ (1 litter), ice cream (president choice is about 20$/ 2 litters). Most of the generic food is President's choice ! A fruit loop cereal box is about 16$... A big ham is 100$ !

I was soooo surpreised the 1st time that I took pictures of the price tags !

But the beach is great and the people are very nice !

You just need a bigger budget...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
