Sol, those pictures are amazing. you have made me excited about Isla Mujeres again. I have been looking at other places in RM, but I keep coming back to Isla. I want small. If I was having more than 6 guests I would definitely choose a bigger resort and city. also, since we are planning on a March wedding, I am afraid cancun and some of the other cities will be bombarded with college students on spring break.

I have actually contacted Sunhorse Weddings and got a really quick response which is very encouraging.

I can't wait to see more pics from you. smile123.gif

This is another wonderful wedding location at Isla Mujeres, NaBalam hotel, at Playa Norte, the most beautiful beach on the Island.

Juliette, from Papillon weddings coordinated this one, she is fantastic!..http://www.papillon-weddings.com/

Here are other few pics that I could find, this are older weddings I don't have many images, but they can give you the idea...

The next GOOD wedding coordinator I can recommend is Maria del Mar, from Weddings Isla Mujeres Mexico, Your seaside wedding is customized, wedding parties, or intimate private ceremonies, creativity and ambience for the perfect wedding experience., she actually owns the hotel "Cabanas Maria del Mar, which is in Playa Norte, I wish I had more pics, but check this out:

Isla is a WONDERFUL place, I highly recomend it. If you want to talk to some of this brides who have had their weddings there, email me and I will give you the contact info.

I live here!, so I know... AND Isla don't get the crowds that Cancun does on spring breaks..., I've been in the area for 4 years.

One thing to keep in mind is that it is not just the college kids at that time of year. That is a big family travel time too with all the younger kids being out of school.

You don't have to worry about the college scene much outside of Cancun and a little bit for Playa. The other areas may be a bit more crowded, but it wont be the rowdy party scene that Cancun is.

We finally made a decision! I think Sol's pictures were the final convincing we needed to choose Isla Mujeres.

I am very excited. We found a big house on the beach we are renting for the week that our whole group can stay at. I am so relieved to have made that decision. I know there are still so many more but I can at least breath easy for the next week or so.

I'm also considering getting married in Isla next Fall. SoltaMargo, any more insite you can offer would be great! Is it a good place for all ages as far as activities go? Do you think it would be a good idea to take the ferry to Cancun for a day or two? Something someone said really stuck out to me...the fact that it could be hard transporting things from Cancun to Isla? What do you think?

Also, JenVH, have you decided to have your wedding there?

Anything anyone can share would be great. We also were thinking of Cozumel.

Thanks!

Jordan

JenVH, I just saw your posting that you have decided to go with Isla and are using Sunhorse. How is that going? Are you going to do a "site visit" to check it out first? When is your wedding going to be and what is the house that you're renting? Any info you can share would be great!

Thanks

I am so excited someone else likes Isla. I feel sort of alone here. smile36.gif

Tiffany at sunhorse has been very nice and generally quick to get back to me. I will only have 6 guests, so we aren't doing a reception, just dinner at a restaurant so we don't have quite as much for her to do for us. But I have heard good things about her.

I don't know how much needs to be brought in from Cancun. I am sure they have most things on the island. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

We rented Casa Mimosa (http://www.casamimosa-isla.com/default.asp). We are all staying there and having the wedding on the beach in front. There is a beach club next door (Zama Beach Club) that you could have a reception at (it looks really nice).

We aren't near downtown or North Beach but from what I can tell it is a short taxi ride to both places.

Unfortunately, no site visit. It's weird to plan a wedding to a place I have never been but so many people seem to like the island and I trust Tiffany. If we get bored we can always hop on a ferry to Cancun for some activities.

I don't know if I answered all your questions, but I will give you as much info as I can. Let me know.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
