That's a good question..
First, I would find out what kind of music options your location offers(if you don't already know). Since I know my options, I will probably just see what my WC suggests. Maybe she will have a recording or something, toohuh.gif

We want a solo guitarist for the ceremony, mariachi for in between and a dj for the reception. Maybe there will be a wedding going on while we are there so we can here what they use! wink.gif
We are doing almost the exact same thing as you... Spanish Guitar for Ceremony, Mariachi for Cocktail Hour, and DJ for reception.

On my site visit, this is what we did:

*Meet with WC (from hotel & private coordinator Maye - we had a ton of questions to ask both)

*Meet with Photographer

*Meet with DJ

*Food Tasting (we did ours at Dreams, determine menu for rehearsal dinner & wedding reception, if you are using multiple places, be sure to check all of them out)

*Cake Tasting (we used Jennifer Hatton but you could try a few)

*Spa visit

*Take lots of pictures of wedding location sites (an actual wedding may be going on if you are lucky)

*Visit local market (downtown Cabo) to see if we could buy things for OOT bags, also check out local super market

*Check on transportation

*Contact Mariachi

*Hair / Make-up trial (i never did this, but some people do)

*Videographer (i decided to hire one 2 days before the wedding so i never met him ahead of time but you could)

good luck! you will have fun!!!

  • 5 months later...

the coordinator will probably go over everything with you, i would just write all my questions down [cause i def forgot some] and ask any of the girls on the forum if they need anything [i.e.: pictures/questions ansered etc.] other than that... enjoy!

I just booked my site visit yesterday but I haven't officially booked the wedding at this hotel yet (I want to see it first) and our wedding probably won't be for another 9 -11 months. Is it still reasonable to expect to arrange a tasting and all these things ahead of time even if I haven't put my deposit down or decided for sure that this resort is the one?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
