I need advice!! I had emergency surgery 5 days ago and the doc today said i can't go into the water in mexico either pool or ocean.. We are supposed to leave on the 19th.. I'm gonna cry.

What do I do. We have 40 guests coming. Too much of a hastle to reschedule. I'm thinking of going (but I spent all this money to go diving and play in the water)

Or do I cancel?

Help!!

What will happen if you go in the water? Did he say?

You will be really covered up for the dive though right? So should that not be okay?

I agree with everyone. If you really can not go in the water at all, then just make the best of it. Do not cancel, you will not be happy about that. Just go and smile and do all the other things they have, there are a lot of things to do besides go in the water.

I hope you are better from your surgery and it was not anything too serious.

How many people are coming with you? Will you cancelling allow them to also cancel or will some people end up on a vacation that they had planned around you, without you. If that is the case then I think you go, have fun, and enjoy yourself in other ways not water related. If you cancelling will not effect anyone else, then it couldn't hurt to move your trip to a date that you can enjoy everything you want to do. Now having said all that, I truly hope you are okay, and feel well, I will be sending positive thoughts your way.

The most important part is getting married, so do not cancel. Go, smile, and enjoy yourself. Not getting in the water may be upsetting, but not getting married will definitely be worse. Plus, your guests that are coming have spent money and probably taken vacation time from work, and to cancel because of the inability to get in the water, would totally not be fair. Not even thinking about how your groom may feel.

I agree! Also I think you should tell your doctor about your plans and see what she/he says about it. Maybe by a certain date you can go in. But either way i don't think you should cancel. There are a lot of fun things you can do instead! To be honest you may not even have THAT much time to spend in the water anyway. I know when we had our wedding I only went into the water twice in 5 days!

But it sounds like th most important thing is that you are OK! Are you feeling well?

Thanks for all the advise!! I'm going to cancel our last 6 nights at our honeymoon hotel.. We were staying there just to dive.. I have been diving for years and Brian just got certified and dosen't want to dive without me.. Maybe we can take a trip just him and I in Feb or something...

My "female surgery" incisions won't heal for 6 weeks total and long periods in the water slow healing and re- open wounds and tons of bacteria in mexico.

After I calmed down a little I feel OK about going and having a great time with the kids and family- there will still be a ton to do. We will be at teh wedding hotel for 1 week...

Thanks!!

FYI: I still havent done welcome letter, OOT bag iron on's, vows, sand ceremony stuff, pretty much everything.. too many drugs cloud my head sad.gif

My 8 year old is my bridesmaid so - no help :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
