Right! Pat yourself on the back. Did you just do your visithuh.gif Did I miss a posting somewhere about your results. Did you taste the chocolate mousse... it's soooo good. What location did you pick at Dreams for your ceremony and reception?

yeah i posted a review but it was in the midst of all the wedding reviews so it was easily missed. ummm, yes i am really missing the chocolate mousse. we did an entire menu tasting and met with Deena from sweet dreams for cake tasting- so that is all decided (yea!) we decided on the gazebo for the wedding- cocktail hour at the el patio bar and terrace and then reception at cascade terrace. i really liked the privacy of oceana but its such a narrow and smaller set up and since we are expecting 75 or so i thought cascade would work better for us. where is your stuff at again? where are you doing your rehearsal dinner? i am trying to decide between on and off site locations now. its such a pain in the arse to travel off site for our entire family but it would be nice to leave the resort- uh i am still not sure.

We're hosting a welcome dinner the first night instead on Dreams' beach

The ceremony/reception will take place at the Cascade terrace as well. It is such a great spot. I think the pool is so picturesque. Since it's two levels we'll use the bottom level for ceremony and top for reception. The terrace next to the waterfall and pool will hold the cocktail hour.

I felt the same way about an offsite rehearsal dinner. Transportation would eat up our savings. We will however rent a truck/van for the week. Besides, people paid a nice amount of money to stay at Dreams I figured we'd try to maximize our dollar. If you or I had picked a non AI then it would be a harder decision.

i think i am trying to decide if the rehearsal dinner should be at portofino's or at oceana terrace- it will cost the same either way (right?). i actually think oceana may be more quiet and relaxing- but still trying to decide. i feel bad because i feel like i am completely deciding the rehearsal dinner stuff and TELLING matt's mom what to do-haha! what a bossy bride! but she has no idea- its just weird because i am totally telling her what to do!
jenetta- you need to keep checking on me because you are always so on top of things- so keep reminding me what i should be doing so i dont forget something!!!!!!

Of course! I guess I should make a list other than my notebook. Either decision would be great. How about indoors since the wedding and reception is outdoors. That's why I moved our rehearsal dinner to the beach, since our ceremony wasn't a beach ceremony. For a lot of our guest this may be the only time that they set foot in the sand. I know it sounds crazy but when we were there we were always by the pool. We never went to the beach.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
