No- I am waiting on a response from Ana to see how much this will be. I want to have our reception from 6-10 (dinner from 6-7) But I want the DJ there the whole time b/c we want the GRAND ENTRANCE at 6- then dinner- then party starting at 7. I dont know how much more this will be. Anyone??

DJ Doremixx already comes with 4 hours so we just asked him for a quote to add 1 more hour, but I cant see us not having music as we enter or no announcement (we did consider 7-11 pm for DJ but just dont see it happening so scrapped that pretty quick)

In short we are just paying the USD 46 plus taxes per adult for the buffet and thats it.

Whew, these posts tend to get longer all the time!
Gotcha- but will the wait staff still be around to serve alcohol??

Are you getting rid of your cocktail hour to have the DJ at that time? My cocktail is at 7 and reception is at 8. That means I can onl have the DJ for 3 hours. Not happy about that.

DJ Doremixx 6 -11

As a just in case, photographer 1 till 9 pm (8 hours total)

I still need to figure out what time we are having fire dancers (20 min) and when to cut the cake.

Cheers,
I was thinking about moving my ceremony to 2 instead of 6 so that we didn't have to do pics before the ceremony. But I am worried that it will be so HOT, being that it's August. Plus we are getting married at the gazebo so there will be tons of people there at the pool. What do you think? I am so confused.

Love the resort but am concerned about the lack of a response from Ana. It appears to be a common problem based on past posts. I just want her to acknowledge my existence--everything else is already planned because my contract and deposit transferred directly from Secrets since the two are related resorts. Has anyone found an effective way to get her to respond? I've written emails to her in both English and Spanish at multiple email addresses but she only appears to respond through my destinationwedding agent...
You may want to try emailing Yazmin. She reached out and emailed me first and she responds fairly quickly (within a week) so far. I have read through many posts here that Ana will be more responsive the closer it gets to your wedding date. Just take the time to read through here, I have really learned a lot just through the posts. Everyone is very friendly and open to share ideas and experiences. Congrats on selecting Dreams. I am getting more excited by the day!

With the Dreams of Love package, a musical trio is included for 45 or 50 minutes. We are planning to ask the trio to setup next to the beach bar and that will be our Cocktail reception between the wedding and dinner. I agree, no reason to setup a special bar for an hour when there is one right there already included in the room rate. Hey, gotta cut cost somewhere.

Also, does anyone know how you pay Ana for the wedding??

p.s.
Some friends of ours got to DRC today and sent us a text. It said word for word: DUDE! THIS PLACE ROCKS! IT'S THE BEST PLACE WE'VE EVER BEEN TO!!

I started jumping up and down in the kitchen and got all misty eyed.
We had to pay for the wedding BEFORE the wedding day. I paid by credit card. If you are paying by credit card, make sure you call your credit card company and tell them you will be using it in Mexico. Otherwise they will deny the charges!

Also, we gave Ana the final count when we got there and met with her. That's so exciting that your friends love the resort...I was so happy when everyone told me that they loved it and some have even planned a trip back!

Oh, and definitely ask Ana for those chair sashes if you need them!! I would be so happy if someone else could use them :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
