Running of the Brides???

Recommended Posts

Love the whole review on your experience and the pics are great...thanks for sharing! Your dress is really beautiful and you really did get a great deal! Congrats!! And for the record, I get the whole trading dresses thing, but I think it's awful that brides were charging "finders fees". That's just wrong.

I know right, like I said, they should be ashamed. I'm pretty easy going (unless you ask my FI...LOL). And I can tolerate a lot. I didn't get mad when the girls were hoarding, just bummed. But the fee thing, I needed to get on my soapbox... I can't believe the employees didn't stop them, as I don't know how that can be legal. And it was all over the news.

Queen Diva- You found your dress girl! Congrats! Yay! Let's see a pic. I bet you look gorgeous.

  • 4 weeks later...

I found my dress at teh DC running of the brides.  So for any bride that's out there wondering if they should go, GO!  It's worth it.  Just have the right attitude.  Stay open minded and willing to try on anyting that may fit.  Even if you don't get any of those dresses it gets your team excited and motivated to get as many dresses as possible for you to try on.  (and yes, please don't try to do this event without a team). As they go out and get as many dresses as they can for you other people wonder your way with trades because they hope that you haev soemthing they want in your very large pile of dresses.  My dress came to me by way of trade and it ws gorgeous.  No damages or anything that needed repair.  I am getting it taken in a bit because its kind of a non-commital skirt.  Not really an A-line not really a mermaid.  So my seamstress is making it more of a mermaid, taking off the bow and giving it a sweet heart neckline.  But when I'm done, it will be the only dress like it out there, period.

Anyway, thanks for letting me rant.  I'm glad otehr brides had a great experience as well.

Thanks for the kind words.  I had such a hard time getting in the spirit of dress shopping.  No matter what I tried on it just seemed like another white dress.  when I tried this dress on my sister and best friend, who are maids of honors, cried.  And the mom's who were there shopping with their daughters just said, "honey you better get that dress."  So I got it.  Everyone just thought it looked great on my skin tone.

But now I'm started to get really excited cause I took it to a wonderful seamstress and she took off the bow, is making the neck line a sweet heart neckline and made the skirt a real mermaid skirt.

So now I love it!

I say all of that to say if anyone is thinking of hitting the sale I say go.  Even if you don't find the dress  of your dreams, you can always turn a good dress into the dress of your dreams cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
