(I almost died... I'm paying $1500 for this puppy -- minus alterations -- and they're selling it for just under $400.) I have to get a few alterations done, too. The bust is a little too tight and it's way too long (I'm 5'6.5", but am wearing flats... probably). So think it over and let me know...

Anyway, here's one of the links I found:

OMG Melaina I want to get married again just so that I can wear that dress! I LOVE IT!

ooooh ladies those links scare me!!! A maggie for less than $400.. that spells disaster!! Be careful of deep discounted dresses!!!! They are NOT true designer dresses, they are mock-ups and almost never match the dress design OR quality!! This is your wedding dress ladies, not the place in the budget to cut corners :oP

well well well, I ve seen a real 100% authentic Maggie in Hong Kong for $200USD...fyi, all Maggie and most of the Pronovias are made in china (Amsale, Vera Wang, Monique Thuiller are 100% made in USA), so you can find them in HK for much much less. Of course, if $1000 can buy the insurance for sleeping in peace, it is a decent price to pay. I believe it is the girl who makes the dress, not the dress that makes the girl.
As long as it fits perfectly, and it makes the bride feels beautiful, then it is the perfect dress (designer or not designer).

You are SO sweet. I bought it like two weeks after we got engaged (haha) and there have been times (especially watching this thread!) when I wonder if I should've waited and tried on more dresses. Hearing an outside voice confirms what I think I know... that I love it :)

Yeah, I'm too chicken to purchase a dress online (heck, I'm even nervous about buying my BM's dresses online!). It was just such a huge eye-opener to see that the same dress was available for the fraction of what I paid. I'd love to see what one of those knock-offs really look like.... Sigh.

Sorry I didn't post the actual pic, I'm afraid to put the pictures on my photobucket just in case my FI comes across it!!!!
Pretty dress. Just as a FYI- if you go to a website and right click on the picture and get the web address- under properties, you can copy it and paste the website using the lil "picture" icon here. Sounds complicated- but basically the same way as posting a photo via photobucket, but your FI can't see!

We have a knock off dress thread here. Check that out to see how it's worked out for them. It's kinda too scary for me, but I think I've seen some happy reviews.

I just love wedding dresses and still have Say Yes to the Dress on my DVR recordings. Beautiful dresses ladies!!

Melaina,

When u try on the dress, u would know if it is the ONE! Don't second guess!
I did my own drawings, so I knew that is what I want. I tried on so many dresses, and they were a bit weird, maybe they were too big for me.
Some knock-offs are very bad. Asymetric bust, pin marks, weird proportion and scarce beadings ( I ve seen it on different websites and on this forum). Some are very nice with nice imported materials and true to the original, my guess is that the dressmaker did get the original pattern of the original Maggie or Pronovias/LaSposa/San Patrick dress since these brands are..manufactured in China.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
