Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

For any of you brides who did their own makeup how did you get it to stay all day/evening in the hot weather? Did you use a makeup fixative spray or whatever those things are called? I go back and forth on whether to try and do my own or get it done at the spa like some of you other ladies are talking about.

Thank you ladies for the birthday wishes. I'll try and prepare myself for the looks of disbelief. A girl on a patio at lunch today told me I looked 23 (she was far away and I had LAAAARGE sunglasses on, which hid 80% of my face. hahahaha)

MsMarmar baby g is too cute!

Guess I should have read completely before I asked (didn't want my multiquote to be too long). He's cute. My FI wants a Pug and I'm not a big fan (of Pugs and most animals in general) but your dog is cuter. I have fallen in love with my BM's American Bulldog. Love him to death and think one may convert me into a dog lover....we'll see! LMAO at his name too!! Very creative...and long. Everyone thinks my FI's name is Theodore because his nickname is Theo.

He's a Bug (Part Bostyon Terrier/Part Pug). He was a rescue last year..about 4.5. This was his "profile" pic on the rescue site...I saw it and fell in love with him..knew he had to be mine
His name is Baby Grinchmas (Baby..cause that's what he came with...and he looks so much like the Grinch). Actually his full name is Baby Grinchmas Theodore Pugglehead....we call call him Baby G

A friend of mine is a makeup artist so she gave me some good quality makeup. Most of it was waterproof and it stayed on all night

Well all I have to say is that for me it was a positive experience since I wanted to learn how to do my make up better and more professionally anyways and buy some good quality makeup. Killed like 3 birds with one stone

I'm pretty specific, I knew that if I hired someone to do my makeup (which I hadn't read good reviews for when I made my decision) and they did a crappy job I'd be pissed and have to do it for myself anyways. Do you have girlfriends that are good at makeup? You could ask them or bring pictures of what you want.

I did my trial in January and literally every time I put on makeup, which is really only for the weekends, I practiced doing my wedding look and perfecting it and practicing put on eyelashes. Now I'm actually really good at doing my makeup and got a lot of compliments on my wedding makeup from other brides asking me who I used. D just 2 days ago mentioned something about how gorgeous my makeup was and asked who I used! I said, hello I did it myself, you didn't know? He said, "wow! It was really good, you should be a makeup designer!" I don't know what a makeup designer is but I'll take it as a compliment.

LOL, omg I would smack him! You should start faking him out and showing him pictures of things you "decide" on that are really ugly, not your actual decisions but just to freak him out... omg I'm mean aren't I?

We are bringing a photographer with also....I thought it would have cost quite a bit more but found a photogragher here that is giving me a fantastic price and will be doing 2-3 days of photos...It is actually cheaper for me to bring her, so were pretty excited. I did look into the photographers the resort offered and was not too impressed, so this was a better fit for us since photos are pretty important.

I used Bobbi Brown's foundation, it's wonderful. I told the chick I was going to be in hot humid weather and she gave me the foundation stick and powder they use on set for runway models and photo shoots etc.

Whoever wanted to know about the wine......

I love wine - I would not call myself a wine snob - but I know a little about it and drink a lot of it. I drink $15 - $20 bottles - which I think is average. Anyhoo, the wine at the resort was GOOD. My Dad and Step mom like good wine too and they all loved it. The Sauvignon Blanc was really good - I wish I could buy it - hint of grapefruit, my fave. The pinot noir was nice and they served it at the correct temperature. I was scared they were going to do room temp/too hot. I also tried the cabernet and that was good too. We stupidly ordered special wine for our wedding from Lomas - DO NOT DO THIS!!!!! No one knew they were drinking anything different from the house wine. Waste of $$$$$!!!!!! We did drink the house sparkling wine too and it was OK, I like mine more like prosecco - so drier - but hey, they poured it like water and we must've drank 12+ bottles at our cocktail reception
