Also, how is everyone selecting there decor for the reception? Are you bringing stuff down or leaving up to Cecilia?
I have our invites getting made and will send out in Sept. and JUST got my STD's. Sending them out this week- seems kinda late!
All of you ladies are so organized!
Hi!!!
We are having a beach bonfire for everyone after dinner time so people can enjoy the resort on their own terms and meet us afterwards. We are thinking about having our bridal party and parents only do a hibachi table at the japanese restaurant but we're still thinking about it since it would be around 30 people including significant others and spouses. Cecilia said if we wanted, she would set us up with our own tables at the Caribbean night buffet which out by the pool terrace that night so we'll see.

As for decor, I picked everything from Cecilia and am shipping place cards, fans, and the welcome bags ahead of time. I would rather not make this complicated and am leaving it up to the experts to make it a beautiful night :)

Hi Jaccat: When I got married at SMB the charge was really high for the bonfire for our welcome dinner. Unfortunately it was so horrendously windy we couldn't have it anyway but I'm curious as to what they're charging for "set-up" fee and price per person these days for the bonfire? Things have changed so much even from a year ago, it seems so crazy!

hey Kits- it's really not a lot of money - i think it's about $25/pp for cocktails and desserts and i think the bonfire is $200. What gets a little pricey is the extra lounge furniture that we may want - i'm working out those details now with my fiance's parents since they are the ones throwing it :)

I have a question re: placecards and table #'s - I'm going to assume cecilia has the table #'s but i want to confirm with you guys - or do we need to bring our own? We are obv doing our place cards here and shipping them down before hand but I was wondering about the table #'s.

Hi Ladies,

I haven't be around for a while, and wanted to drop by and see how everyone's doing with the planning? My wedding is 2 months away and I got a dress but need to get it altered because it is sooo long! So, here is my question to you, are you guys wearing flipflop for the beach ceremony? I am 5'0" so I still need to add height for the wedding day and I'm thinking about buying those wedge flipflop. If you have suggestions on a good website I can get them, let me know please??

hi ree ree! mine is almost 3 months away!! crazy!!!!!

i'm having my ceremony on the beach but you can get cute ones on victorias secret.com like knitgirl said. Also look on Zappos.com too!! if you want something a little more fashionable, I know Tory Burch has wedge flip flops too that you can probably get at Bloomingdales or maybe Nordstroms. Good luck!!!!

No children are allowed at this hotel - even to visit for the wedding. The best option if you have families traveling is to have them stay at a nearby family friendly hotel and then the parents can come to the wedding, leaving the children with a babysitter at their hotel. Any guest for the wedding that comes to the hotel for the wedding from another hotel will have to pay a $100 guest pass fee for entrance to the property. You can either pay this for them or ask them to pay for it - it's up to you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
