Please help-Digital Memories-love or hate?

Recommended Posts

I know there are a couple positive reviews regarding this company and I looked at their website as well as the slide shows. I don't want to offend anyone at all...but some of them seem very "posed" and they seem to use the same poses with a lot of couples. I'm also not a fan of the music slide shows they offer. Anyone want to chime in with their experience? Love, hate, or somewhere in between? This is the only photography option offered to me by the resort without flying in a photographer.

I have seen several raves on here of brides who used Digital Memories and loved them...I considered using them, as they are very affordably, but decided against it for the reasons you stated. I wanted my wedding pics to be more candid and true to the feel of the wedding. I think it comes down to personal taste and what you want out of your wedding pics. If you aren't thrilled by their sample pics you saw, I wouldn't go with them, because your pictures will be very similar! Good luck!!

I had never heard of them before, but I looked at the website and I see what you are saying. I don't know what your budget is.. but my photographer was AWESOME and affordable even though he had to travel.

Here is his website if you want to take a look at his work. Also a link to my pictures from him in is my signature.

It is worth checking into other photographers if you arent happy with the one that the resort provides for you.

Mallory57- You are right. I think that most photographers are going to put their best pictures on the website, so you prob can't expect a different feel for your pictures.

Kat- Your pictures are beautiful! I think I will send him an email just to see what he can offer! Did you do a TTD session with him?

I didnt do a TTD with him, but he does have a few of the recent ones that he has done on his website right now! And I see you are in Bend, Oregon. Another good thing about Nate is that he lives in Portland. If you wanted to meet him, you can. I know that it would be a drive but it might put your mind at ease. We got to meet up with him over Christmas (when I was home.. since I am from Portland) and it was GREAT

Thats too bad that he is over your budget. I thought he was very reasonable compared to the others that I emailed. But he did launch a new site and stuff so maybe he raised him prices some.

There are some that my wedding planner recommended that I can get you links to as well if you would like :)

I used Diana Campbell from Digital Memories and was happy with what I got. They're very affordable and very friendly. I suppose it depends in the person you are. I personally don't care if we had the same pictures as other couples, I'm going to be looking at my pictures not theirs. They took the pictures we wanted at the locations we wanted. They took us themselves to the lighthouse and then to the Mayfield Falls for more pictures. We love the friendly feeling that we get from the people of Jamaica every time we go and we got this from them. Not upright photographers. We are a laid back couple that wanted nice pictures for a reasonable price. If that fits you then you should do it!

Amy were you able to get a wedding album (or parent album) with your photography package with Digital Memories? Also how long did it take to receive your pics?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
