Just want to warn you so there are no surprises.. at first I thought it was just 40$ on upgraded wine also.. but after I made the reservation Ana e-mailed and said it all goes according to how many guests you have, and its per couple.. so if you have 10 guests- the minimum amount you'd have to spend on wine is 300$- which is ridiculous.. so i cancelled it. I think they have a way of saying things that isnt totally concrete or fully explained.. and then there are all these surprises as far as extra charges go. =(

Just want you to know!! =)

This might be a weird question.. but i would like to know from previous brides, or future brides if you are aware... if dreams does really come through and provide the complimentary room for the groom the night before? I worry about this because i need somewhere to get ready without my fiance seeing me all day, and if we dont get another room.. i'll be forced to go to the other room where my mom and maid of honor are staying... talk about being rushed and cramped! I want some alone time to get ready.. and enough space... and not to have to share bathroom/mirror/counter space with a bunch of other women.. its my wedding day!! =(

It says per availability.. but you know how that goes.. i'm trying to prepare for the "sorry mam, we dont have another room available" and then i freak out lol.

We actually just booked a regular room and may upgrade when we get there, not sure yet. We just didn't want to spend the extra $ for a plunge pool or anything because we will have 40 guests at the resort, many the same length of time as us so we won't have much alone time. We're planning to take another separate trip by ourselves next summer for our honeymoon.

It's best to have a backup plan - it is based on availability/occupancy at the time you're there. Can your fiance go to a friends room? Are you and your wedding party getting your hair done at the spa? If you are, they have a little bridal suite that you could probably request and there are mirrors and sinks and chairs in there to get ready.

I have been very concerned about the same thing. I had my TA ask Ana this many times and she says they will not know of a room is available until we are there. Ridiculous! I asked another bride and she said she wasn't given the room until the same day they gave it to her! So worried bout this.

We did not get the extra room the night before. It did make things difficult because I was expecting to get it and didn't make other arrangements. So, I made my husband go get ready in his friend's room (which he was really unhappy about) and then I got ready in our room. Ana said that the resort was at full capacity and there wasn't another room available.

I think the bridal suite idea is a fabulous one!! (only if you are using the spa services though). I'd plan/be prepared for a back-up. It's a nice 'extra' that they offer the extra groom's room, but I know it's based on availability and you probably won't know for sure until the day before your wedding....bummer, I know. But better to be prepared about this than to be blind-sided I guess.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
