Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Oh I should probably post what I do... haha.

I work from 6am - 5pm or later (as of late) at a Software Manufacturer in Corporate Sales for the Northeast US. My husband works about 7ft away from me in the same department as a Corporate Sales Manager for the North Central US. He travels, I don't.

Is an email saying you're uninvited rude or do I just let it play out and deal with it when I have to? FI wants to post something on our website saying we have decided to go with just immediate family and bridal party..is that ok or super tacky? I think it's a combination of both :)
Well, I was in the same boat. I invited everyone KNOWING they wouldn't come. I sent them all save the dates and never sent them an invite. No one complained at all and they even decided to throw me an AHR. I would just not say anything and don't send anything. Let it play out, I doubt many people will approach you about it. If they do, tell them that due to financial reasons you've decided for it to be immediate family only, people really can't complain especially if it's financial.

I wouldn't go the email route. Since you haven't actually sent any STD's or invitations yet, technically no one is "uninvited" yet. An email could really hurt people's feelings and make waves.

Definitely post on your website that you're just doing immediate family and bridal party. That's not tacky at all and will be a good way to get the word out.

Are you doing an AHR? If so, you could send out STD's for that to the non-wedding guests at the same time you send out STD's for the wedding. Then everyone would feel included in some way and they would be able to reference your website for further info.

Since I have been out of the loop for a week or two - I 'll chime into the latest. I am an Account Executive at a Marketing/Advertising Agency but I am going to school part time to become an elementary school teacher! (Not the best timing - no jobs, planning wedding, oh well!)

I would honestly tell people about wanting to keep the wedding small and keeping your guest list to only immediate family and very close friends. For all your cousins know, maybe you wanted their addresses for wedding announcements!! It does not mean you are inviting someone when you ask for their address - but to be on the safe side I would tell them. Start with the easiest person to talk to and get their advice. I found that having certain people "on our side" regarding a destination wedding was really helpful. So when family members complained/questioned it, there were other people who stood up for us and helped explain our decision.

At first I felt embarrassed when ppl would ask me about when my wedding when I knew they were not getting the invite, but when I told them we were only inviting immediate family & friends - only 40 people total and we both have large immediate families.... - they really understood and thought it was nice to have a small wedding.

Ohhhhhh, 7am to 5pm Amy?! That sounds terrible! Do you leave for lunch/go to the gym?

Have you been looking at other hotels lately?

I am an insurance broker, mainly working with hospital medical malpractice.

For example for some reason everyone at my work thought they would be invited. I am only inviting one person and technically he is coming along to be my DJ...LOL.

I needed to get away and not do any wedding planning because I was beginning to get stressed out with the family drama around me. I cannot believe I am posting this on a public forum, but I am having issues with my Mother and she has been making this wedding planning a nightmare as opposed to something fun. I'm her firstborn and only daughter and I guess my expectations of her involvement were/are a little higher than her perception. Anyway, I'm channeling and processing it all and working on beginning to accept that although she has the funds, she just might not be at or involved in my wedding. It hurts, but it is what it is. I just never invisioned my wedding day without my Mom being front row and center stage. Lots of lessons to be learned in life.

Moving past the drama and resisting the urge to emotionally dump here....and back on to weddings!!! We got our STD's back and out in the mail. I will be honest and say that I was on the fence about them and almost hesitated to send them out. We found an awesome seller on Etsy and while I loved all of her other work and samples, I don't think my idea translated over well via email. I wanted something very natural and organic. I love raffia and we are using Burnt Orange as our main color with sand brown and white as accents. After seeing our STD's, I am starting to think we might need another bright accent color. I am a tomboy and not a big fan of pink, so that color is out, although I have seen other weddings and I think those two colors are beautiful together. Any suggestions of an accent color to go with burnt orange that don't give off a "fall wedding" feel are greatly appreciated. Because I know how much we all love photos, my STD's that I sent out are below. We placed thins self-adhesive magnets on the rear so that people could place them on their fridge if they chose to.

Any ideas for a pretty accent colorhuh.gif??
Hang in there girl! Your mom will realize the day is about your dream wedding not hers. I hope she will come around soon for your sake.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
