Dreams La Romana

Recommended Posts

Hi girls -- I just wanted to write a post because we got married at the Grand Palladium last week and went to Dreams Palm Beach for our honeymoon. BUT our flight got delayed 21 hours so Sunwing sent us to Dreams La Romana for 1 night and day. The resort is beautiful and the wedding gazebo is spectacular. I wanted to write to let you know that it's a great choice - the gazebo is really private and near the Preferred section (which I would also recommend -- it's great with an infinity pool). The resort itself is similar to Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana (practically identical in every way) but the exception is the wedding location -- much much nicer than Palm Beach!

We loved it and would go back next time! :) Hope that helps

Dcairns- I booked HDC for my wedding for both photography and videography after reading so many amazing reviews on this website! There is a whole thread on it! Also, if you go to their website, they have a lot of pics of their work you can show you fiance wink.gif

He also has a page on facebook where you can read tons of amazing reviews! I have not come across one bad review so far; they are the best in the area!

Also, in regards to the confirmation of your deposit, in my case it took forever which was stressful. What I noticed worked best was to put the word URGENT in the subject box of your e-mail! Also, once they confirm, double-check that everything is right; they had actually written down the wrong month of my wedding.

SunandSand --- YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY....im so excited for you! I hope you have a fab wedding!!!smile159.gif

Sungodess_08 - Thank you for taking the time to write that post for us :)

p.s. Im having my civil ceremony in a week from tomorrow!!!! Im super excited guys!

xoxo

@Krod100 - the flowers are real but I just don't understand why they're charging $100 for hydrangeas.

Can someone please explain to me what comes with renting out the Seaside Grill for the private reception. For some reason I thought that it included the meal, drink and dessert for 60 people and today Yanna explained that it was only for the usage of the facility and that I would have to pay extra for the meal. If anyone has a different answer in writing from either Yanna or Tiara, please let me know.

i am waiting for Tiara to "write" me back. But she confirmed on the phone that we get the facilities (ordering off the menu) with my fiance. She did write the following answers to my questions.. now you are making me nervous. Is there anyone else out there who took the free package but rented out the seaside grill.

With the free package, can I rent out the Seaside Grill?
Yes.

What is the cost of this?
USD 1,000.00 + 26%

What is the menu for this?
The menu of the Seaside Grill

Does it matter how many people I have at the wedding, such as is there an extra charge per person?
This price will cover up to 60 people

Can I hire a DJ for Seaside Grill?
Yes USD 250.00 up to 4 hours.

Is their wine served with the dinner at the Seaside Grill?
Yes, domestic wine

Is their barservice at the Seaside grill during our reception?
Yes.

Is there place for dancing? Yes.

Do i need to pay a deposit for the DJ in advance, or is that taken into account when we arrive (we plan on using the DJ for 250$ in your Extra's package)
You will pay this upon your arrival

I am thinking of hiring HDC for photos, is there any specific information I should know in regards to this? Such as fees for them to be on the resort?
You will need to pay a day pass for them.

I will need to make appointments for hair and trials, do you do this or do I contact someone else?
We will do this when we start planning the wedding details.

When do you need to know the final amount of guests? Some are booking with separate carriers but all are staying at the Dreams la Romana?
I need to know this at least 15 days prior the wedding date.

Her answers are below the questions.. hope thats not confusing, it was color coded in the email but not available on the thread.

This might be a case of 'lost in translation'. I think what Yanna means is that you can go with the SSG but if you want to order the special wedding dinner ie. Silver or Gold, you will have to pay extra (per person) for that.

If you are okay with ordering off of the menu then there is no extra charge. Also, your guests would all have to eat the same meal, which you would choose in advance (with the exception of vegetarians who they will prepare something special for).

Hope this helps.

Yikes! Looks like we posted at the same time!! Good to see you got your answer!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
