Oh wow! This sucks that you ladies all have to deal with this. I really liked Chandlynn , she was slow to respond but she did a great job. I wonder why she was let go? I sure hope Tina gets her stuff together and does a great job for all of you!

OMG ladies! Jen1310, I am so sorry I think my FIL even talked to your dad at some point cause he came back telling stories about a bonfire and dj on the beach that they weren't going to refund cause of the rain but ended up doing so because they couldnt get it going. My wedding was the day before your on June 21 @ 4 on the beach with the poolside reception...so apparently she got fired during my wedding. I know that there was a lot of confusion on our day and definitely some things that didnt go like they were suppose to but nothing like yours and overall our day was good! I am so sorry but it sure explains alot as to why things were a little/lot crazy on our day. My review will be coming soon cause there were a few incidences is all I will say but nothing too major that ruined our day or trip!

This is from TripAdvisor, dates July 1 2010:

"In terms of weddings, the current wedding planner is new, and really unhelpful! She was on her cellphone during the ceremony when we were waiting for her to release the birds. Once we tracked her down, she told us they couldn't be released in the rain, but hadn't told us that earlier and acted like we were stupid for asking. She also refused to decorate or take care of other details that should absolutely be included in the wedding coordination. If you are an extremely laid-back bride, you will be okay, but if you like to know what will happen and when (like me!), you will be stressed out."

Chandlyn had told me that she'll take care of fans on ceremony chairs/place cards for dinner/the details of the beach reception (tiki torches that are included in the package). I may have a stroke if this Tina tells me that she won't make good on Chandlyn's word.

I just want to get married. I never thought a DW would be this stressful.

Is Tina easy to find? I arrive at ROR next Friday and the wedding is on Tuesday but I don't want to spend days hunting her (or any coordinator) down. I am preparing for emergency situations as well - I haven't heard from the ROR in a month so I have no idea if we are on file somewhere, where we stand in our plans etc. We have a fall back plan of an off-resort wedding ...just in case wink.gif

JesseLyn10 will you have internet access while your down there? If so, could you let us know if she has it together or not? I hate it that I can't get any answers anymore. I have alot of guests arriving on different days. I wanted to be able to tell them before hand where to meet for a welcome dinner and since Tina won't respond I can't pre-plan anything.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
