I sent out my save the dates back in March. Only because i know a few of my friends need some extra time to save. so i wanted to give them a heads up. I have spoken to a local travel agent here in my town, and she has given me some prices. but when i look online on expedia ect, they arent showing july 2011 yet.

how are your other plans coming along?
I have my wedding packaged paid for, the location at the resort picked out, and my private dinner as well.
currently i am trying to figure out when i should send the invites out. I am think in Jan or feb, that way they can have their deposits in for april.....

Ashley,

Happy anniversary, FI were going to get married on our 5th anniversay which will be dec 1/2010 but had to change the date due to work and other issues with his divorce why they waited so long to actually get divorced who knows lol (remember this my 2nd)

I have paid for the wedding and fees in Jamaica, started buying stuff for OOT, have OOT bags (vista print) some varies printed material, bought some pashmina, assorted jewlery for BM, MOH and myself, arranged for a private catamaran (still need to make the deposit) booked photographer, grooms and groomsmen outfits bought. Cake topper bought, sand ceremony set bought. Bought some raffia fans and starfish off another bride. I think thats about it. lol Oh we already bought our wedding bands, we did that when we bought the engagement ring.

I have been checking into boudouir photos and did find a photographer in Guelph that some other bdw brides have used in the past, so I might do that in early spring.

I am hoping to have everyone have their deposits in about 6 months prior, so Jan or Feb at the latest. Even thou we are not travelling at prime time, I am concerned the flight will sell out.

Most quotes that you get now tend to be high and are tentative on summer scheduling. I may start getting quotes in September, but probably not securing anything until the new year.

Ashley, The whole formal invites make me wonder if they are really necessary, on my STD I wrote a comment on group rates arranged late fall early winter so those that are going will be aware. I am also send an informal RSVP with the STD just to get a estimate total. From there only those interested will get a formal invite. I plan on sending the formal invites out end of December I think.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
