I did a Bedroom photo shoot for FI for Christmas a few years back. It is nerve wreaking...but now I look back at those photos with pride. And my FI loved the photobook! Love the idea of maybe doing some new ones to give him just before the wedding....hmmm.... wink.gif
Thanks! It was fun dressing up in his work shirt because I was anticipating his face and smile the whole time. ;-)

OMG! I think I'm officially the only one that hasn't done this. I won't even wear a bathing suit without a cover-up! Guess that solidifies the fact that I need to be in the gym this weekend. I envy you ladies that have the balls to do this. Maybe one day?
Thanks Meredith! We had 3 more book over the holiday weekend, so we officially have 5 guests! I did a little dance because I'm hyped that our family actually will be joining us. After a few of the complaints we initially rec'vd, I started preparing myself for the worse. But alas!!! ;-)

If you aren't digging your "problem" areas.....maybe you can wear your FI's work shirt, a favorite jersey, tie, or lie these things across you in a creative way. It will personalize them and give you some comfort......

And will be thrilled to recieve such a wonderful exciting and thoughtful gift like this. I bought a cheap set of satin sheets to drape across me to hide certain areas, and it turned out looking sexy and intriguing. Take a few different pieces of sexy lingerie, and one of your FI shirts to wear! I wore one of my FI dress shirts and it turned out to one of his favorite shots.
I too wore FI's shirt, that must be the "in" thing? ;-)

We didn't think we could get married on the beach the day before our wedding, because it was sooooo windy, but the night before the wedding coordinator told us it would be great, and it was. It was the most beautiful day ever and I want to do it all again!
I"m so tired right now, so I'm going to be short, but all I can say is it is a FANTASTIC place to get married. No one has any reason to worry at all. I will post pictures as soon as I get some from friends. If anyone wants to add me on facebook to see pics, please do (meghan yao!)
Congrats MEGHAN!!!!!! Welcome back Mrs!!!!!! Can't wait to hear all about it and see photos!!!! I love it when you AS brides return with great stories and positive energy!!!

I'm trying to recruit my MOH to do it with me for her husband. Too bad he's the one who took our engagement pics and she said hell no when I asked if she'd be comfortable with him doing my BD pics! Lol.

bigboponthebeach - I've been on the invitations thread lately but you're on a roll girl! I'm almost positive that unless someone slips me a mickey I'm not gonna go totally nude either. I like the idea of a sheet and one of his shirts. Don't even think I can do the panties although I just racked up @ Vicki's Semi-annual sale! I'll put you on standby cause I may text you for a little pep talk when I do it.

amandamarieb - I say we all do the BD shoot. I'm game now! Still embarrassed but all in! Too bad if I were you, I'd want to crash that bachelors weekend tho!!
DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! cheer2.gif I'm your number one cheerleader! See my post above about personalizing your shoot with FI's clothing.......

BUT..I'm thinking it is possible she might be overcharging...my sister has a TA friend and tried pricing out the hotel for the same days and it was A LOOOOOT less. Did any of you switch TAs and is there any special etiquette for doing it? It comes down to price for me...and I don't want my sister's friend to do all this work for nothing...so if she can save me $$$ I would switch....Thanks
I too am using DW.com. We are on our second TA with DW.com and all has been great since then! We had a rocky start with our first TA and tried to give ourselves about a month or so to warm up to her. It didn't happen so we emailed the Manager and were reassigned. As far as pricing, any good TA should be open to getting you the best price. The RA's on here are awesome as well, especially Wendy Hicks, who was kind enough to give us an estimate. A good TA is worth their weight in gold!!!

Otherwise, switch TAs. There's no harm and you're perfectly within your right to do so. There's no special etiquette involved; your DW.com TA will know it was b/c of price.
I completely agree with Wendy here! No one can knock you for switching TA's to obtain the best prices for your guest. A good TA should have that same interest at heart for you.

I started out with dw.com but switched later. I noticed too that they were a lot more expensive. However, if you like your TA, just send her the cheaper options you found, and she should be able to match it. I even sent my TA now some cheaper options on Orbitz and she matched. IF you are looking for a new TA, I HIGHLY recommend Wendy Hicks @ BDW (Wright Travel Agency). SHe is SO SO SO SO SO SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SENT!!!!!
I second your thought on Wendy. She was awesome to talk to and gave us an estimate for our ceremony when we were considering leaving DW.com. Unfortunately, her prices were the exact same as DW.com, but that was out of her control and they were using the same vendor to pull prices.

Great TA and great surprise!

I honestly haven't looked into that because I had already set one up with Honeymoon Wishes - Honeymoon Bridal Registry your wedding gift is the perfect honeymoon. It basically translates into cash for you and FI but its similar to what I assume Karisma offers but without the 7% charge. You can assign dollar amounts to things you want to do at the resort or on your honeymoon, i.e. manicure to show off my ring is an option. Check it out.

Marla - for some reason when I tried to pull up your site it didn't come up. It's probably because I'm at work and they block everything but I'm sure it's nice.

Since we're sharing here's ours Meredith and Theo - Welcome. Hasn't been updated in awhile tho.

AmyKH - still haven't gotten that video. Do I need to send you my email again?

I am doing OOT bags and in it is going to be a postcard that is a picture of our 2 dogs that we got from the same rescue. I am then on the back going to put in lieu of a favor a donation has been made to the Poodle Rescue of Houston. It was the only way I could think to involve the dogs without it being too cheese or dragging them to Mexico. Plus I got these cute little tuxes to put them in to take their pictures. On my Facebook is there 4th of July pic. Yes I am crazy dog lady! HA

I didnâ€t do favors persay, from what I kept reading people donâ€t care about favors really, like trinket like stuff. I did OOT bags and on every place setting in my little birds nest were the 5 light green speckled mint chocolate Jordan almonds in a little organza pouch which is the Italian tradition. So it was something little but not really a favor. The cigars went over bigger than anything so I kinda consider that a favor as well, LOL 

Hey Meredith-I'm looking at yours right now..I like that you have a dedication page...might have to add that to my work in progress page. What do you have on your For the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen? Might have to steal that too :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
