Hey!! I'm a Marina El Cid bride too! I would LOVE to share information? Have you visited the hotel? We went down to visit hotels, but we changed our hotel recently and so we haven't been to El Cid. I'm so excited to find another El Cid bride!!!

I'm so glad, I'm not the only one :))

I have never been to that hotel, but the reviews on tripadvisor are great!

I have contacted their wedding coordinator, Eva, she's a doll. She's been answering all of my questions and everything... Plus their packages seem to be reasonable. :)))

What are you thinking of having your wedding?

  • 2 weeks later...

I am so sorry I have been MIA. We are sooo busy right now with planning, moving, starting new jobs, and summer activities. I'm so excited to have another Marina el Cid bride to discuss with! We are in full swing planning right now, because our wedding is Nov 5th. We're about to send out the invitations and we already have 35 people booked, so it's moving right along. We haven't decided about the photographer yet. What did you think? Did you see any of the pictures? She send me some examples. They look good, not great. I have reached out to a couple of photographers in the area and I haven't heard much back from anyone. (I'm guessing that means they are booked?) We waited a while to get on the photographer thing, so we might not have any other options. I wish there were more brides, including some that have already had weddings, so we could ask them questions about food, decorations, events, etc. I really like Eva!! I also have the world's best travel agent (if you don't already have one). She has been AMAZING!! Plus she has been working with Eva a bunch and has gotten us really great deals! Where are you in planning? Have you thought of where you will have the reception? How you will decorate?? I would love to hear!

I really loved this hotel. I visited a lot of hotels when I went down in February and I would have chosen Marina El Cid except that I wasn't crazy about the options in case it rained the day of my wedding. The wedding coordinator was fantastic and the resort is beautiful. The food was delicious, the beach is gorgeous and the rooms are great too. This was my second choice for hotel and if there had been a better rain backup, I would have definitely wanted to have my wedding here.

I as a photographer did a site visit and met with Eva ( I believe it was her ). The information I got was that they do allow outside photographers, I am sure things are always subject to change.
As others have said the place is great, I hope to shoot there soon. I am very familiar with the location, my family has a home in town there.

Best wishes!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
