I"m so tired right now, so I'm going to be short, but all I can say is it is a FANTASTIC place to get married. No one has any reason to worry at all. I will post pictures as soon as I get some from friends. If anyone wants to add me on facebook to see pics, please do (meghan yao!)
Congratulations Meghan! Thrilled to hear it was everything and more. And great to hear there were no problems...makes me realize I have nothing to worry about!

Now get some rest and enjoy being a newlywed! :)

cjb0arder13 - I'm totally a prude too! That's why I never gave it a 2nd thought. But I am researching it now and if I do it you gotta go it. I don't even have as much time as you have and I have more than just a little jiggle, but I think I'm gonna suck it up, get typsy one day and do it! I'm trying to recruit my MOH to do it with me for her husband. Too bad he's the one who took our engagement pics and she said hell no when I asked if she'd be comfortable with him doing my BD pics! Lol.

bigboponthebeach - I've been on the invitations thread lately but you're on a roll girl! I'm almost positive that unless someone slips me a mickey I'm not gonna go totally nude either. I like the idea of a sheet and one of his shirts. Don't even think I can do the panties although I just racked up @ Vicki's Semi-annual sale! I'll put you on standby cause I may text you for a little pep talk when I do it.

amandamarieb - I say we all do the BD shoot. I'm game now! Still embarrassed but all in! Too bad if I were you, I'd want to crash that bachelors weekend tho!!

meghan - Welcome back MRS!!! I'm glad you had a great time. I know it was a little rocky at one point but it all paid off if you had a flawless wedding. Can't wait to see pics!! Was the WC at your reception the whole time to work the iPod?

Thanks! The WC was at the wedding the whole time, but she did not work the ipod. They are actually not allowed to touch your ipod for liability reasons. However, the sound system guy was there the whole time and he worked the ipod. If we ever wanted different songs put on, we would just go up to the ipod and switch it ourselves. But he was good at turning it down or off when speeches were being made and such.

For some quick answers, I did the silver package. It pretty much provides you with nothing. But I kept my wedding simple and had barely any guests so the only thing I added was the decoration package and paid a $500 vendor fee for my photog. If you want a private reception you have to pay extra for that.
Thanks Nicole! I've been poking around a bit more and now i'm totally thinking about skipping the packages and just doing the private reception, photographer and ipod for reception. Did you use a photographer? Who and how much if you dont mind me asking?

very good to know. i really wanted to do a vintage look. you think he could make that happen there?

And will be thrilled to recieve such a wonderful exciting and thoughtful gift like this. I bought a cheap set of satin sheets to drape across me to hide certain areas, and it turned out looking sexy and intriguing. Take a few different pieces of sexy lingerie, and one of your FI shirts to wear! I wore one of my FI dress shirts and it turned out to one of his favorite shots.

Good luck and have fun with it!
All great ideas. FI is from TX and very proud of it. Maybe I can wear a hook em' horns or something. He'd love that. We had our wedding photog (a friend) shoot my pregnancy photos last summer and I wore a men's shirt. Those shots were the best. Maybe I will have to revisit. (PS I wish I could share photos with you guys but can't seem to make anything come up in my signature. I am so tech challenged. sad.gif

we used an ipod and it was amazing. I would not spend the money on a DJ. The wedding coordinator acted as an MC, but my brother did as well and he was amazing. We also did not have to operate the ipod. The sound system guy did. Sound system was fantastic! I was quite impressed actually, and I good music was really important to me. Everyone danced and rocked out right till we were cut off at 11.

It is Zavaz Plaza. That is where we had our reception, and we had the blue glasses as well. We asked to have that other thatched roof area, but they do not allow people to use it for private events anymore.

I think it is $9 per covered chair, and $4 dollars for each bow. Not sure what the cost is for uncovered chairs...maybe $4?

we didn't have additional lighting, and didn't need it. The sound system is $250, but we rented it for an extra hour and a half to take us to 11 pm for another $75. $325 in total....super good sound!
Yay! Welcome back. I am so glad that it was amazing and that you had good weather. We were all hoping for the best for you and so glad it turned out that way. Yay. Congrats Mrs.

I used Moments that matter photography. They are forum members and I have a thread on them if you do a search. Price.... I would contact them for a price. I booked them about a year and a half ago when they were first starting out with DW so their rates will likely be different now, but I can say that they are reasonable.

If you're just trying to post a pic, upload it to a photoshare site like photobucket, and copy and paste the IMG code in your post. If you're doing a siggy pic, you can upload it in the user cp area.

Meghan!!! Welcome back and CONGRATS!!!! SOOOOOO glad that everything went perfectly :). I need to see pics ASAP!!!

Quick question for all of you....did you use a DW specialist to book your travel and group and wedding? I am currently using destinationweddings.com and have ZERO complaints with my TA..she always gets back to me..explains everything..etc....

BUT..I'm thinking it is possible she might be overcharging...my sister has a TA friend and tried pricing out the hotel for the same days and it was A LOOOOOT less. Did any of you switch TAs and is there any special etiquette for doing it? It comes down to price for me...and I don't want my sister's friend to do all this work for nothing...so if she can save me $$$ I would switch....Thanks

I would think if your sister's friend can get a better price, tell your TA at destinationweddings you want the best possible price. If she can't get that price, what can she possibly do to help elsewhere? Perhaps get you a better price for your wedding package? If she can't match it, I would say go with your sister's friend, since your guests will appreciate the best prices available.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
