it might be the only WR deal that comes out of this whole thing. I seem to be overbudget on everything else!

not sure where you live, but last December my local Saks had an amazing sample sale with couture gowns from around the US. I almost picked up a $10k Vera Wang for around $2k.

if I see anything about it I'll let everyone know.

I live in Chicago, there's GOT to be something there! I'll keep an eye out - thanks for the tip.

Yeah, I love that you did that and that it worked out fine. Question, did you go try on the same dress at a store before you ordered it on e-bay?Sometimes things look so much different hanging up than they do actually on a person. I would be nervous to buy with out trying on.

No I had never seen the gown in person. I am a bit of an anomoly. I worked in a nicer salon in college so I've tried on hundreds of gowns. It really worked to my disadvantage because I am really picky about fabric and design, but simultaneously it would kill me to pay retail for a gown because I know how much they cost.

They shipped it to me, I tried it on and it fit perfectly. I knew I wouldn't find "the one" but I am very happy with the one that I ended up with.

ETA: I figured there wasn't much to lose even if the gown didn't fit or I hated it - it was only $230 and I'm sure I could re-sell it for that price.

Can you tell what a neurotic person I am?!?

Thank you all so much for your help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
