Emailed you the video!

Yeah, this is my final celebration, #4! This one is being thrown for me and it's only my mom's side of the family, the Italians. DH will actually be meeting all of this side for the FIRST time. Should be intense :)

I told my DH that for my birthday this Sunday, all I wanted is to do laundry and clean my house. I'm so beat! I just want to relax on the couch and by the pool for the long weekend!

SENT! :)

So funny about the rings...that's why having two ceremonies is perfect. best of both worlds and much less pressure the second time around.

FI and I are honeymooning in Paso Robles after Mexico. We love wine country and haven't been there. We were going to go to a LA court house for the legal ceremony but think we might do it in Paso if possible. Much more us and would be nice to go back there every so often and say that we got married there. Yay. for two ceremony locations!

Thank goodness for you "old" married ladies. What would we do without you?
Yeah that was the best part of the ceremony, so confusing but hysterical!

OMG, I love Paso Robles!! You will LOVE it! It's soooo pretty and I'd go back there before Sonoma or Napa which I've been too. It's so much greener and looks like a freakin' movie.

Such a great idea! Getting married in Paso Robles, gorgeous!

Does Chris know of anyone in Vegas that will take pictures of us?!?!? That would be sooo awesome!! We are trying to think of "theme" for us to dress up as now.
Thank you!!! It couldn't have been more amazing and more fun!

Chris drove out there for me, it's not a long drive for us Cali people, you should contact him and ask him to quote you for a Vegas shoot. He gave me like 6 or 7 hours and did such an amazing job, we had so much fun with him. Tell him your my friend and to hook you up! You won't be sorry!

That's not sad! Took me awhile to figure out this forum :)

I really don't think we'll do anything at all, unless my friends insist, which they may. I told DH not to buy me anything too... no point, Vegas was considered a gift in my opinion!

Kittenheart, sounds like you had a great time in Vegas. Im so happy for you.

Meghan, i have my fingers and toes crossed for you that your wedding day, will be everything you dreamt it would be. Im sure the rain will dissappear for you.
It took a few weeks for me. Don't worry, you're just anxious of course! They have to check and confirm with the minister if they are available that date.

Thank you, I did have an amazing time! I can't argue with 2 weddings in 2 months :)

All of you may brides out there that are already married, I have a question!!! I am wanting a ceremony as late as possible with good lighting for photog. on my wedding date may 13, it states sunset is at 7:17pm. We are planning on a 6pm wedding right now, but will the lighting be OK??

I suppose i can also ask my photog (when i finally hire one)!! BTW, picking a photog is the hardest decision!! smile41.gif

Ashley,

The lighting will be perfect for a 6pm ceremony. You could even go a little earlier, say 5:30. So long as you are done with your ceremony by 6:30, you should still have 45 minutes of good light to do some great shots of the two of you, plus get some sunset shots. The lighting on the beach there at that time is totally amazing!!

I am of a different opinion than Artistique. Sunset for me was 7:05pm and I chose a 4pm ceremony so that I would have plenty of good light. I didn't want long shadows in my pictures. I think it all depends on what you're looking for. If you do want sunset time, make sure you see some shots from the photog you pick taken at that time of day. Not everyone is good at capturing shots in that light.

And yes, picking the photog is definitely hard! For us the resort was the hardest choice, photog came a close second!

My AHR rocked and was so so so so so much fun! It was full of good times and mayhem out on the lake. Perfect weather. I'll post some pics when I have the chance. Everyone was so excited that I wore my dress, and for those of you who remember my botched wedding cake, my AHR cake and cupcakes were perfect!

Lindz, I am officially off the To Do list! HOOOOOORAY! smile123.gif
So glad for you! Congrats. Can't wait to see pics

And my TA just suggested Beaches Turks & Caicos...no offense but why in the world would she suggest that 300+ room resort with Sesame Street characters everywhere?! Its actually comical. I don't get how she would think that me saying I love AB's intimacy that BTC would be a plausible suggestion!
so so sorry that you're going through this. I can only imagine... I would be HEATED! Keeping you in my thoughts that it all works out for the best for you.

Sent you my video!

I think it took me about 2 weeks to receive confirmation as well, sounds right.

I agree with Wendy... I got married, May 8th and my ceremony was @ 5:00pm... running late ended up being 5:35pm, ceremony was about 10ish minutes long, wiped away tears and touched up a little, took pictures and we were already loosing light quickly. I wouldn't have the ceremony that late unless you only want the ceremony to have sunset shots and no photos afterward to have very much light. Give yourself adequate time, I'd at least move it up to the 5pm hour.

The hour before sunset is called the 'golden hour' by photographers, with usually the best light of the day. The light gets softer and more flattering than it does earlier in the day with harsh overhead sun. Especially being on the east coast, the sun will go behind the trees before it sets and you have some amazing light. One of the best things about shooting on the beach in Mexico is that the white sand acts as a big reflector, reflecting light up into your faces.

If you don't plan on seeing each other before the ceremony and you need to do all of the ones of the two of you, plus your wedding party and family, you will definitely want to do your ceremony earlier just from a time stand point, not a lighting standpoint. If you just want great light for your ceremony and some of the two of you on the beach after you should be fine with a skilled photographer. Here are a couple of 'golden hour' shots, with no shadows at all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
