September 2010 Brides!

For my centerpieces, I am doing vases with red gerbera daisies (to match my bouquet) and a large satin-y brown square of material under it. I'll have my favor boxes at each place setting too. Mine is really simple, but since it is outside, I figured I really didn't need a ton of decoration.

My invitations are finally going out in the mail today too. My FI and I spent 6 hours on Saturday tying ribbons on the invites, addressing, and putting on the stamps.

i think they are so simple, but still beautiful and i'll put crystals or rocks or something around them. the only thing that worries me (besides the breaking glass ofcourse lol), is do you think that the petals will stain the water and then it'll all be a pink cloudy mess??

Uh oh. This is my first time trying to use advance posting. I think I have narrowed it down to these centerpiece designs below...maybe. These look simple enough. Hope this works.

These were such a huge pain to put together that...at one point, it was taking me 15-20 minutes each. Fold..thread ribbon..tissue paper..label..stamp..fold AHR card..fold RSVP card..inner envelope..outer envelope. Ay dios mio! Glad to be done.

So, I forgot to tell everyone about my upset with the invitations. I took a finished one to the post office on Saturday to find out how much postage would be needed, and I bought these pretty wedding stamps with the exact postage to go on them. I took them yesterday to be mailed, and I was told that whoever had weighed and figured out the postage on Saturday was wrong and that I needed an extra 20cents on each one. My only option was to have UGLY NON-MATCHING 10 cent stamps added on. sad.gif The ladies at the post office yesterday were so nice though and made three phone calls about whether I could get away without the extra postage (the extra postage had to do with the thickness of the envelope and not being able to go through one of the sorting machines). They felt so bad that someone had given me the wrong info that one of the postal workers took all of my invitations and said she would go sit and add on the extra stamps to all 80 of them so that I wouldn't have to do it. Not a total disaster, but I was a bit upset that I had spent time getting really nice stamps to go on there and I had to have random stamps added on too.

Tanyon......those are beautiful centerpieces! I love the 2nd choice, the sliced lemons and tulips!

MNH....ugh im going thru kind of the same thing!! Every post office near me is out of pretty 20 cent stamps!! I know its not a big deal but I just want it to look nice and the 20 cent stamps are hideous! Its funny bc a fellow BDW member pointed out to me that "no once cares about the details of you wedding but you" but I disagree! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
