exactly! when we decided on a DW, i thought there was NO way i was going to feel like i "had" to invite anyone, but of course i did...wedding politics! and those people who i didnt really want to invite were so excited about cancun and drinking and partying (not so much the wedding). 2 months ago they are all coming and it's such a relief that they have said no!!! :)

For you girls that have not had the greatest wedding experience I just wanted to let you know I am in the same boat! But what is getting me through is knowing that I'm going to have a kick ass Renewal of the Vows for our 10yr anniversary...and it's going to make up for my wedding!!!!

I check our wedding website every other day or so and secretly hope some of FI's college friends and my Mom's friends have RSVP'ed no. Oh, there is also a cousin of mine with 5 children and a spouse that strongly HOPE do not come! I cannot stand her husband and I keep thinking about how OOT bags for a family of 7 would work! LOL

Confession #1 - all the eating and drinking at girl's weekend resulted in me weighing 1.2 lbs more this morning than I did Friday morning and I totally think it was worth it.

Confession #2 - FI and I started the P90X diet and exercise plan today and I hate the diet plan. It is all high protein and I am a carb girl. I am already fantasizing about cheating and its only day 1.

I confess that I want to punch FI best friend in the face right now. It's all over the soccer games yesterday....he always thinks he knows more than everyone else, but I'm afraid not this time, and I think he deserves a punch in the face! I've already told FI this and says to go ahead! lol

I also confess that I did not enjoy my wedding experience. I want to do it all over again keeping it a destination wed. still but only have my immediate friends/family. There ended up being so much drama from certain people who came down and really ruined the night. That and I felt really sick all night so I didn't enjoy myself from that as well.

I hate most of our pictures too and how I look in them. I have said this to my DH and told him I want to do it again, just another symbolic/vow renewal, just a relaxed atmosphere where we can have fun. Maybe for our first anniversary??
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! I'd say that's a great idea. For your first vow renewal, do it up a little and add elements that are exactly what YOU want, it is in fact your wedding vow renewals and it should be something you love.

Aww nothing beats that man-pride of them being happy about something they did. I'm sure "improving it" without hurting his feelings is always possible!

I don't like my engagement ring and it is not my style. I also don't have the heart to tell FI because he had it specially made. It is a great thought, but I DO NOT like it!!!! :-(

What a relief to finally say that.....I've been pretending since March!!!!
Hmmm, is there a way to change it or would you have to get a brand new one? I think if it's something you are going to wear for the rest of your life, you may want to have it be something you like. Just put it very gently.

Sometimes it is TOTALLY worth it! I agree with you, the diet SUCKS. I am a veggie and carbs girl... all the protein literally made me gag. Finding a good protein shake to supplement for meats really made a difference since I could pretend like a was drinking a chocolate steak instead of eating another chicken breast, ugh!

Confession:

I know I am going to sound like the biggest b*tch, but I don’t want my FI niece and nephew to be my flower girl and ring bear. They are only 5 and I am afraid they are going to be running all around, and people are going to think it is cute because they are young. I really have no patients for that type of thing. I do not think it is cute.

I want the attention to be on me. Any other event I would be fine sharing, but not MY wedding.

My FI mother has already hinted to having them in the wedding. And how cute the girl would look in her little dress. …meh

Skadow, HAHAHA! I feel you, I didn't want any kids at my reception either, alllll my friends smoke and drink and I didn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable with kids around. I did have it at a resort that had a family section and an adult section just in case and no one brought their kids... had I known that previously, I would have had it at an adults only hotel! You could just tell people it's an adults only event /hotel maybe?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
