We take a stack of $1's, usually about $75 and tip most everyone $1-2 (or more at the sit down restaurants) with good service, bartenders & waiters plus leave a couple of dollars a day for housekeeping. You get great service, we never had anything taken from our room and honestly, most of these guys make less than $20 per day!!

Thank is SO exciting that you are leaving so soon! Woo Hoo!!! It is going to be amazing! :)

We are getting married at the Barcelo march 16, 2011. We are staying at the Colonial but want to have our ceremony at Coral Beach. Does anyone know if that's possible? Will we have to stay a night at the Palace to be able to have the ceremony at the Palace?

Also, I received the menu from Claudia, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there were options for a childrens menu??

Thanks everyone! I've enjoyed reading all your previous posts, so much good information!!

Hi Melanie, I'm so excited!! I can't wait. We're having our ceremony at the Gazebo. As we only have a small group coming with us i think we will just have our evening meal in one of the al a cartes. We are having an AHR so i'm OK with not having a big one in Mexico.... How about you? I am just so happy we finally have a definate date.. YIPPPEE cheer2.gif

We are not having an AHR so we will be having our reception in Mexico. We are getting the Strawberry Dreams package. I would like to have our reception on the beach, but am afraid if it rains we will be put in a banquet room. My #2 pick would be one of the open air grills because they are close to the beach and I would have peace of mind that our reception location would not change if it rains. I just can't decide!! My dream is to have a reception on the beach, I don't know which to choose!

MObride09 - your wedding pics are beautiful, LOVE your dress!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
