Also, when did the wedding planner start talking to you about your wedding? My fiance is supposed to be doing the planning for me, but I'm pretty sure he's not actually doing anything at the moment.
I have actually always heard back from photosouvenir within 24 hours. This is the email my WC gave me photosouvenirsa@hotmail.com. Also she made the initial introduction through email, so I think that might have helped.

In regards to the WC's. Contact them, don't wait for them to contact you. They are on island time and are content doing everything right before. I just email them, wait a day or two and if I haven't heard back email back. Usually I hear back also within 24 hours and they are VERY helpful. Good luck!!

Hello Lisa,
I'm getting Married on August 11, 2010 but we will be arriving on the 7th : ) Have they given you any details about the order of the ceremony. I'm trying to work on my programs. Also, what all vendors are you in contact with? What extras are you taking or purchasing there? Also, I thought about taking my own drapes for the beach set up but they haven't gotten back to me with the details on measurements. Also, are you having a videographer?
So many questions.. sorry

Thanks,
Michelle

Hi Michelle - I am the same with my questions - always a million :) PS - we aren't leaving until Aug. 14, so I will hopefully see you!

I don't have an order of the ceremony yet, that is my next big thing to tackle.

Vendors - DJ Mannia, Photo Souvenir, WCs - Karelyn, Ana and Isuyeny. I have not been assigned my officiant yet. I heard Pastor York is great, so I think I will request him.

Extras I am taking - definitely sashes for the chairs, favor boxes (probably filled with candy)for the reception and placecards, cake topper (not sure about knife and toasting glasses yet), guestbook, most importantly a lap top and USB cords, so we can do a docking station for everyone's computer, then after the wedding we want to send a CD of all the pics to everyone that attended :) Two big things I'm not sure about is OOT bags. Most of the people that are attending are part of the wedding and will be receivng gifts. If we do OOT bags it will be simple necessities - advil, bug spray, sunscreen, etc. Centerpieces - I think this will be decided when I see how much luggage I have. I will definitly bring a few things (yellow confetti stars for the table - our first dance song is yellow by coldplay), probably some small tealight candles, beyond that it depends on luggage. I am NOT bringing a drape, so can't help you with that.

Finally vidoegrapher. We didnt' budget for it, but I would love to borrow a video camera from a friend and just press record for the ceremony.

Hope this all helps!

Lisa,
Wow, thanks for the quick response!
I am in touch with Isuyeny also, she's been a little slow to respond lately, I'm sure she is crazy busy. I am also taking my own photographer and she has a friend just wanted to tag along to shoot the wedding also. We got lucky on that one : ) All of my extras also depend on luggage space. My FI keeps saying, HOW ARE YOU GETTING THAT THERE?
We only have a total of 9 people coming, all family but I got excited about the oot bags. They are small but I love them. I didn't do beach bags, but just regular gift bags that I put a little logo on that I made. I also put aloe, chapstick, immodium, bug spray, hand sanitizer, and a lufa. I also got rafia fans and wrapped the handles with turquoise ribbon with a green bow. Then I"ll put my program on them. : ) I 'm crazy because two ppl will be taking pictures, Eli and I will be standing along with his brother and sister and my sister. ... That only leaves 4 chairs : ) but I wanted it to look cute! I'm also taking my own chair sashes. I ordered them today! I'm getting there but I feel like I'm forgetting so much.
Center pieces also depend on luggage space. As of now, I probably don't have any room. But I"ll hit up some guests for a little room in their suitcases : )

We will probably see each other : ) You'll have sneak past our wedding : ) its at 5:00! : )

Where did you order your sashes from?

If you see a stalker at 5pm - it will be me wink.gif

There will probably be plenty of stalkers. As long as they are clothed, I'm okay with that.. : )
I had to order them from two different places. The turquoise was from weddinglinensdirect.com and the green was from tablecloths-chair covers- table linens-sashes wholesaler
Shipping is a little crazy from wedding linens direct but they are literally in the mail already and I just sent for them this morning. I didn't order them all from the tableclothfactory because the turquoise wasn't the right color. What are your colors? I ordered some sashes from the table cloth factory just to see the colors. I have turquoise and yellow in satin and I also have turquoise in organza. I'll send them to you if you want to check them out..
I put cute little sayings on some of the items in the bags. I put spread the love, not the germs... on the hand sanitizer. On the bug spray there is a picture of a little bug and it says... "In case the love bug bites". and I made a label for the chapstick. You could probably change the colors and the names and use it if you would like. It says excellence punta cana. and it also says sealed with a kiss : ) and a B for our last name, along with the date! The shout says, "chill, this will take out the spill"
I'm trying to get enough posts .. once I do, i'll put up pictures : ) or I can email them to you!
Also, I made a cute poem for in the OOT BAGS..

Thank you so much for your love and support
As you join us here at the Excellence Resort.

Weâ€ve provided some goodies to keep at your reach,
With hopes that youâ€ll join us for our moment at the Beach.

There is some chapstick to protect your lips from sun,
Be sure to apply before the day has begun.

Itâ€s the hot summer burn that we cannot beat,
So our hope is that the aloe will take away the heat.

We know that the bugs will come out at night,
So, please use the spray to cool the itch from the bite.

We know that a spill can be a real pain,
So, here is some shout to take out the stain.

We havenâ€t forgot to include some Imodium,
With hopes that this keeps you off the podium.

There are just a few more we couldnâ€t resist,
Relax and enjoy your stay, we insist.

Please donâ€t forget youâ€re here to have fun,
And celebrate the day that we become one!

Love,
Soon to Be
Mr. and Mrs. ----------

Let me know if you want me to email you anything.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
