Msglave another suggestion might be to go to a place like MAC have them do the look you want and make sure they outline it on the paper. They give you one with a face that describes how they did it and all the products they used. If you are happy with it you could buy the makeup and bring it down with you along with the paper copy of what they did. Than you could have someone at the Royal's salon do it. I am sure since they are makeup artists they could follow your instructions and make sure you have the exact look that you want

Hey Msglave. How long will you be in Mexico before your weddng? I think you are on the right track with something liek a straw set. My experience with them is they can be done really tight and hard and last a few days that way then by thetime you need to shine you can fluff them out a little bit and look gorgeous. As long as you don't get in the water before the big day, that can do it.

Well staying out of the water is definitely a challenge. But - if you were able to do it you could practice at a salon at home getting a really tight straw set. Let it hang out for a couple of days then go to a stylist you trust and let them do something fabulous that is kind of pinned up so it looks totally different. Take pictures and then let some one in Mexico do the pin up for you. If you wanted to be really certain the curls would last, you could travel with the rods in your hair (yikes!). Sounds extreme, I know, but some might be willing. Anyway, I have natural hair too and I wouldn't trust many people to get my hair from its natural state to a less natural state, I would trust most reputable salons to get it in a style once its been processed. Another style that travels and transforms well is the two stranded corn row. Your hair comes out spirally and can be fluffed to look wonderful. And if the braids are done well you can still ook fabulous while traveling. Good luck!

No, two strand twists are not along your scapl. It's like a corn rown but done to look like a two stranded rope along your head. When you take your hair out it looks like cork screws. You can fluff it out or pin it half up, what ever you'd like.

Okay, it's funny how styles are called different things in different areas. What you referred to in post #17, in Chicago, we call a two-strand twist if these are the ones that hang down. The two strand twists that are along the scalp, we call flat twists. When you said two-strand cornrows, I thought it was a new style I could try :-) Thanks for clarifying!
