This one wasn't free either, but I love the way you can set up the guestlist and it's easy to navigate for us computer illiterate people :)

I have to figure out how to make a small album that people can access. We have over 1000 pics. Working on getting a slideshow.
Great pics!! How are you enjoying married life?

I just got off the phone with my travel agent. The reason there are no rooms available is because AB just pulled them all. Apparently, this has to do with the construction they're planning for 2011. I know Wendy (taylorwd) mentioned this earlier in the thread...apparently, it's going to be a bigger deal than we all thought. My TA has inquiries out to all his contacts at AB to find out how intrusive the construction will be, but he thinks this will have a major affect on bookings. We have 10 rooms reserved, but may need as many as 15, and he thinks it might be hard to get the extra 5.

So...I'm not panicking. I'm not panicking. I figure if I say it enough, it'll be true.

I should know something by Monday or Tuesday...if it's going to be a huge hassle to get rooms, or there's going to be massive construction going on around the time of the wedding, I'm going to book elsewhere. Which breaks my heart, because I'm in love with Azul Beach. But...I also don't want to wake up to drills and hammers every day.
I'm glad you got a reason but it sucks you have to go through this added stress. Just keep in the back of your mind the fact that everything will work out so perfectly in the end that you will look back and laugh about how stressed you were.

Well, it's kinda hard to just tell you stuff because there's sooooo much info. Do you want to know anything specific? I can say that I am glad I made the decision to get married @ AS because none of the brides have come back and complained about it being a horrible experience. Most everyone that's been married there comes back and raves about how perfect everything is. I know it's a lot, but most of your questions would probably be answered if you go back to about page 400-450 of this thread. It's a wealth of info and it may also answer questions you didn't know you had. Hope this helps anf good luck making a decision!!!

Thanks to all of you who complimented our centerpeces. We do plan on putting flowers in them FYI, but my sister says she likes the white box better. I'm torn and my mom wants whatever I want. So, for those of you who looked at them, which one do you like better the bronze or the white? I may use both, but if more people like the white I may just incorporate more of them.

(Told you it was bizarre)
I only recall one court, but I could be wrong. It's on the beach by the pier. The BBQ is next to it, so we played a few games with the resort entertainment crew and some other guests. It worked out well! I may have some pics... I'll go back and check.

Honestly, I think everyone's idea of expensive is different. In my eyes it IS expensive with all the add ons, so I kept my wedding simple and small. What sort of range are you looking at?

Meredith, If it was my wedding, I would do both. How many tables and centerpieces will you have? It seems like you'll have at least 5 dinner tables plus maybe a few extra on the DJ table, name card table, etc - so alternating colors might be cool. Always go with what you like!!!

Robin, Depends if you want to have a private event or not and how many people are coming. I think compared to other 5* resorts in the area its reasonable. Even with a private function, for say 50 people, you can keep it under $10k.

Robin, I added a lot of extras, and including the photographer (who is not one of the resorts photographers), we are just under 10K (probably right at 10K if we include the price of travelling.) It is more than what I thought it would be originally, but I think it will be beautiful!

We are getting married on May 7, 2011 at Azul Sensatori as well. How was the resort? I have never been!

The short of it is that Karisma puts on fabulous weddings. But it is a 5* resort so of course it doesn't come cheap. Congrats on picking a fab resort!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
