Dawn just did my wedding on March 20, 2010 and she was wonderful. We had a small budget and a small wedding. She was able to accomplish everything we wanted!! Working with her was very easy and she was in touch all the time. My email is [email protected] if you would like pictures. I am not able to post pics correctly on here.

(DJ Kevan was our DJ and we were very happy)

My wedding was on May 29, 2010 and I used the services of Jamaica Elegant Weddings and it was one of the best decisions I made concerning my wedding.

My ceremony took place at Rose Hall Resort (RHR) and initially I was planning my cocktail hour and reception at the same site but the cost was getting to be too much and I had to seek out another option. I learned about Jamaica Elegant Weddings from this forum and contacted them about three months before my wedding date via an online request for information. In no time I got a response from Dawn and my stress free wedding planning began.

I look at Dawn as a God-sent. The first time we spoke I explained to her my situation, desires, and budget. In her calm voice she told me it would be "no problem" that she would make my dreams come true. Now I will be honest, for my wedding I wanted it ALL but at a discount price, not a small feat but Dawn not only met the challenge, she rose above it! My wedding reception was more than I could have ever dreamed of. The location, decoration, food, cake, entertainment, EVERYTHING was on point! And although I was not there, from what people told me and the pictures I saw, the cocktail hour set up was gorgeous! Way beyond what I imagined, I'm talking about fruit carvings and everything.

Now let me tell you about Dawn...she is the kindness and most professional person I have ever worked with. She's so gentle and reassuring. Tell her exactly what you want and she'll give you that and more. We met the day before my wedding and I handed her a large suitcase with all my wedding stuff; decorations, menus, guest book, escort cards, etc. I even gave her my reception dress which she later helped me get into. She was just there in whatever manner I needed her to be. I HIGHLY recommend her service, you won't be disappointed.

Now for Kevan our DJ. He truly is the best in the west. I didn't have any contact with Kevan before the wedding, I simply made a playlist and e-mailed it to Dawn, she passed it on to him and he delivered beautifully! My #1 wish for my wedding was that I and my guests had a blast, for us to party and dance the night away. And that's exactly what we got! My guest told me that they had nevered had so more fun a wedding reception. DJ Kevan stuck to my playlist request and delievered exactly what I wanted. I have no complaints.

Let me know if you want any photos. I don't have my professional ones yet but I'll be happy to share some of the ones my guests have sent me.

Hello and hope all is well. I do not know of a wedding planner in Jamaica, but I can give you a excellent photographer who does destination weddings all over Caribbean. His website is www.frankpanarophotography.com

He is normally priced and he did my wedding and friends.

Most of all resorts in Jamaica have wedding planners on staff anyway.

Jamaica is a beautiful Island and November is a beautiful time to visit.

They drive a bit crazy so be careful if you rent a car.

Best of Luck always in your planning.

Hi Mrs. Reed,

Congrats on the wedding. I too am in a similar position with you regarding Rosehall Resort. I want it ALL, but RHR certainly wants to charge for it ALL as well. I read you review and was wondering if you would share your wedding reception photos with me. [email protected]. Were you happy with the food at your reception? Because one of the reasons I chose RHR was that their food was on point. I really enjoyed it every single day I was there. Were you happy with your reception decor? Which florists did Dawn use because I recently came across Tai Flora, and their work looks amazing. Was your reception location far from RHR? I really hope to hear from you soon so that I could make a decision regarding the reception.

Congrats again. You seemed to be very pleased with how everything turned out.

Mrs Reed,

Congrats!!! I'm happy to hear you had a great experiance with Dawn. I am also working with Dawn for my november reception(I was a little worried planning a reception over the internet with someone who i've never met) I am also getting married at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort in November, I am having my reception off the resort with Dawn from Jamaica Elegant Weddings because the resort was too expensive, they were overcharging on everything. What site did you get married at on the resort? I've picked the West lawn gazebo site to have the ceremony, do you have any suggestions or advice on the wedding location at Rose Hall? I would love to see your pics from your wedding/reception . my email; [email protected].

Thanks Emma

Terls I know I've responded to you via e-mail but I'm not sure I've responded to you Emapema. Busy week. Anyway, as you know I was very pleased with my experiece with Dawn and so were my guests. I'm happy you two are looking at the option of having an off site reception. I'll try to do a full review of my RHR ceremony and Dawn reception and send it. Happy to help.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
